Guest guest Posted January 8, 2010 Report Share Posted January 8, 2010 My local Asian markets in Virginia Beach have great prices on exotic fruits, veggies, and roots, and I've even found some sweet organic deals on specialty items! Everyone should check it out! And the employees get used to 'regulars' and so I've even had a few favors/ discounts/ items saved for me if they were the last on the shelf happen just because they knew i come in all the time, and would likely be needing it! Guest guest Posted January 8, 2010 Report Share Posted January 8, 2010 hello, Guys.. i lost my mastiff nearing 3 years ago to lymphoma, and for the last six month to make things better i was seing an accupunturist vet, who also put her on raw diet, , she really enjoyed, i never would have guessed, but i had to do the works, and that was hard.. the local healthfoodstore had organic frozen fresh petfood, it/ she firmly beleived they need raw fresh greens..demdelion is best/ had to be put in blender, i have added a lot of fresh dendelion..and flax seed oil.. That is interesting-- dandelion has soo many healing properties... and on the topic of raw foods; i myself am a RAW and i know that eating such a diet boosts my endorphins and helps my body cleanse; i feel 'living foods' like kombucha do the same for me...saurkraut, kombucha, etc.... so i would like to give so freely to my beautiful canine cutie the same. peace, . Guest guest Posted January 8, 2010 Report Share Posted January 8, 2010 raw diets are a dog's natural diet-their stomach is designed to handle raw meat and digest quickly and efficiently. dogs are able to scavange and not get sick. there is a huge amount of misinformation about raw feeding, education is the key. raw food should never be mixed with kibble or cooked, dry, processed food of any kind, cause that slows down the transit time for the raw and can set them up for things like salmonella. think 'wolf', 'coyote', 'fox'- these animals would be dropping like flies if raw food gave them salmonella or other food poisioning, they eat dead things, what ever they come upon vets are educated by dog food companies, and are usually totally incompetant for advising you on diet. gail my other vetenerian dissagreed and said that pets can also get salmonella from raw meat, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Here there is a vetenerian, who beleives that too, and gives them raw greens too,/ mostly dandelion/ if mixed they will eat it..unfortunately i did not find her untill late..i already spent seven thou on a 'highly recommended'vet, who thought raw meat gives them salmonella, i actually beleive he killed my baby. He just was interested in money.
