Guest guest
Hi Janice, I'm like you, I can loose weight on just about any diet as long as I use portion control, WW points for me. I never loose as much body fat as I want though, so try to stick more to BTD for that. I'm trying to go more by the Diabetes book guidelines which further restricts sweet potatoes and rice, but I'm finding it's too rigid. Would rather settle for more gradual results, than risk burnout. I'm cutting down but not out sweet potatoes, rice and oats. Congrats on your success, I still have 40 to 50 pounds to go. Cheryl > Hi , I disagree with you on the sweet potatoes and rice. I wish the Diabetes book had given sample menus the way the other books did. I'm still trying to figure that out. What is bladderwrack anyway, and where can I find it? Thanks, Carolyn
Guest guest
Bladderwrack is a specific kind of seaweed. NAP Fucus Plus is bladderwrack. I've use Solaray's and had my TSH drop from 4+ to 1.9. It's a source of iodine for the thyroid, but also has some lectin blocking activity because of the fucose sugars. I take one capsule a day of the Solaray product, will be switching over to the NAP version when I use those up. > >I'm trying to go more by the Diabetes book guidelines which further > > restricts sweet potatoes and rice, but I'm finding it's too rigid. > > I wish the Diabetes book had given sample menus the way the other books did. > I'm still trying to figure that out. > > What is bladderwrack anyway, and where can I find it? > > Thanks, Carolyn
Guest guest
The Nap Deflect has N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine, Sodium Alginate, Bladderwack, Larch Arabinogalactan, Gum Tragacanth, and N-Acetyl Cystine. Check your health food store. Re: & Joy: From:Janice (About sweet potoates & rice & regular potatoes > Bladderwrack is a specific kind of seaweed. NAP Fucus Plus is > bladderwrack. I lost last night at TOPS of one pound. I went from 147 lbs. to 146 lbs. and now I'm 6 lbs.below my KOPS goal of 152 lbs. I can only lose 1 more pound and then I'll have to weigh with heavy clothes because my KOPS range is 145-155 lbs. Hey Joy, I was good last night and didn't have a regular potato and had double the vegetables at the restaurant with my TOPS friends. They are all telling me not to lose anymore weight. I told them one more pound. Now I was bad this morning and had 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Oh well. At least I gave up an apple, honey and goats cheese spread so giving 3 out of 4 foods isn't bad and still don't know if I'm a non- secretor O or secretor O anyways. ~~ wow. so, this is what you do. *this* is how you have excitement, this is the nature of your adventures, your thrills, your chills, you secret guilty set-backs and exhilerating victories! comforting that there is no end to the drama unfolding from America's counter-tops & kitchens... Bravo, Jabbering Janice! Bravo!!! i've still got my own tiny spiral notebooks with all the foods and amounts i ate of them, along with " grocery-trip " lists. comments at the end of days lamenting over lack of proteins.. etc. etc.
