I agree, Ray, it takes both diet and medication for me. I cannot have any

onions or garlic, that's the main thing for me. Also, not wearing pants

that are too tight or bending over (like to pick something up off the floor)

anytime soon after eating. I see my primary care doc. on Thursday. I'll

ask him if Prevacid or Protonix might work better. Omeprazole helps a lot,

it just doesn't work as completely as I would like.

God Bless,

Ray,

I have been on prevacid for about two years. Last November I started having a

lot of bloating anf fatigue. Went to my FP and she suggested that prevacid was

not working and changed me to Nexium, which didn't work.

I ended up stopping the use of any, and actually everything went away. Even

during Xmas I was able to eat all the Mexican Xmas food with no problem.

Recently I' been getting " the pain " around by esophagus and ribs, so I am taking

a Prevacid every other day, that seems to work.

My conclusion is that I got some sort of IBS flare and the medications where

making it worse.

BTW, is Prisolec similar in functionality to Prevacid. In terms of cost I pay

$60.00 for a 3 month supply of Prevacid, but I have to get refills authorized. I

am thinking I Prisolec may be 1) cheaper, 2) easier to get.

Regards,

Gerardo

Gerardo,

Sorry to butt in because I know you asked Ray. Just wanted to let you know

that Prilosec is cheaper because you can get it generic. The generic is

called omeprazole. Also, in the United States, Prilosec is now available

without a prescription as Prilosec OTC. If your insurance will still pay

for it, prescription omeprazole (generic Prilosec) is the cheapest way to

go.
