Guest guest
Does anyone know if there is a connection between Helicobacter Pylori or E. Faecalis infections and Reiter's Syndrome? I was diagnosed w/ H. Pylori in mid 2004 and recently w/ Enterococcus Faecalis infection of the prostate. For past year, I believe I've been suffering from Reiter's Syndrome. I am HLA B27 negative. I've always tested neg. for all STDs. All rheumotolical tests were w/in range. All endocrine tests were w/in range. I do have elvated protein in my blood and high acid in urine. My symptoms are: 1) Dry / Red Eyes 2) Ureathritis 3) Gastritis 4) Dry Mouth 5) Dry Lungs - shortness of breath 6) Dry Sinus 7) Dry Skin 8) Pain under breatbone which is constant and sensitive to touch 9) Reflux 10) Fatigue I have a hard time speaking as my mouth and throat are always dry. I've been to dozens of doctors .. ID / GI / Rheum / Endo / ENT / Opth / Cardio / Neuro / Psych / Alt Med .. no help. I am dry and sick and no doctor can tell me what's wrong and how I should treat. Please help.

Guest guest
I think that Reiter's Syndrome could be set off by anything? I feel that you are lucky that you do not have an inflammatory process going on! Maybe a dermatologist can see why the dryness. Make sure you get a lot of water, and enough fat in your diet, and take sits baths, and think as positive as possible. make sure you do not have eyeritus in your eyes, are they sensitive to light? I have Ra. Thank-you, danc5@... Moderator's Note Please trim the posts you are replying to. Use the least amount of reference to the original post as you can. Guest guest
I think that any of the infections that affect the gut or intestine can trigger ReA. So many here have over the years traced their first reaction to a post stomach problem. I hope that this is your first and last flare.
