Guest guest
Lois Possible senerio from your info In simple terms - a Yeast problem Larger scope -- bad food, bad digestion, leaky gut, toxic overload, adrenal and thyroid deficiency. Was there something that precipitated this allergy, reflux, breathing situation? What supplements are you taking now? Check for a locally run health food store. Look in the yellow pages and call. First suggestion --- pH paper, acidophilus and quercitin/bromelain (natural anti-histamine). With answers to questions I can give you more specific suggestions Kathy Lois <2-loisw115@...> wrote: I had allergy tests taken last month and found out that I'm allergic to cats and ragweed, but, read below. The body sensors pickup some things that have been on my healthy list, as 'ragweed'. I can't eat strawberries anymore. That is on my list along with chocolates for creating ragweed allergy reactions. Oh, there's more, No chocolate, strawberries, melons, lettuce, spinach, milk, eggs, bananas, eggs and mints. cheese, fish, tomatoes, plums, pineapple, avocados, red wine, (too bad.) oranges, shellfish, citrus fruits, spinach and alcohol. They all have 'histamines' in them which is why people end up using anti-histamine medications, such as Allegra. Some of these are on the 'void' list for type O, but what do I eat for breakfast if I can't eat eggs? I'm cutting down on grains, (not easy) I found out that white potatoes work like a sleeping pill for me. Are there places in NE Wisconsin (North of Green Bay) that carry products for type O? We are on a limited retirement income and will need to conserve in new products as I know my spouse is not interested in changing his eating habits. I am also hypo thyroid, have sleep apnea, using a breathing machine. and have acid reflux problems. This all is too much for me to comprehend at once. I've been hypo since birth, (63 years ago). but all other health problems are fairly new, along with taking lipitor for too high cholesterol. Can some one send me some basics to get on the right track? Hilis or Lois
Guest guest
Thanks for answering this. I don't know for sure where the problem started. I had surgery in Feb. of 2003, had an ovarian cyst, the sixe of a grapefruit removed in a Milwaukee hospital. I quit taking estrogen about a month before I start getting some discomfort in the colon area. An MRI showed I had the ovarian cyst, and a very strange shape. like a double balloon. I saw the exrays. A month and a half later I was scheduled for surgery. I had to have surgery done 250 miles South of me. The pain killer almost killed me and my stomach. The first three meals of juice, jello and broth did not stay down. I was ready to leave this world. A nurse came in and I asked her if the pain killer was affecting my food digestion and she was honest and said, " I hate to tell you, but you are right and I 'm changing it to something else now. " Then they gave me more of the same, just different flavors. Wh en I asked if I could have something else, they came in with ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans and almonds and a very sweet torte. I had a little bit of each, at 6 p.m. At 4 a.m. it all came up again. At breakfast time, I had scrambled eggs and toast and milk. At 9 a.m I was dismissed from the hospital, I had not passed gas yet. We had a 4 hour drive home, and I lost ten pounds that week, since I had no appetite. Could not tolerate anything sweet for 2 weeks. I was told by my local doctor to cut down on red meat. I start taking Soy protein shakes and eating more salads. My thyroid blood count has been on a yo-yo trip since my surgery. Increase decrease, increase, decrease. The last decrease was way off and I felt like a zombie again. Like I felt before I had my sleep tests at the sleep clinic in October of 2003. I quit breathing 79 times every hour for ten seconds each time, which adds up to 8 minutes short of 2 hours that I was not breathing. My voice box is enlarged which blocks my normal sleep patterns. So I was put on Prilosec to cut the acid reflux and to shrink the voice box. After six weeks, there was no change in size, so I was put on a different reflux med. I never heard of type O diets till my friend in the next town told me how she was a vegetarian and after she started the type O diet, has felt so much better. This I learned a month ago. I heard some on on the radio call this program a quakery, but my friend has been helped a great deal on this type O diet. I hope this information helps you . Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I forgot to mention the allergy test which was taken on my second visit to the sleep specialist. I was sent to the hospital for blood testing for allergies. I knew I was allergic to cats. I don't dare touch them if I don't want my eyes to water and itch. My spouse smokes and refuses to go outside to smoke, but that did not show up on the test. I get gut aches and head aches from that if I've been out of the house and come back later. I thought he was only smoking in the bathroom (one of them), but tonight I left the house and had to come back in, as I forgot to take some thing with me. He was smoking in the kitchen and I had to walk right by him. The allergist told me I was allergic to ragweed, which includes that list of foods I sent. I am also allergic to certain trees, which I found out two years ago when we moved to this area of Wisc. and right next to the woods. I took a walk in the woods down to the creek and broke out with rashes all over my feet, ankles and arms. It was not poisen iv. I had a blood test then, and it came out, allergic to trees. We are surrou nded by trees. Time for me to get my breathing machine on. (level 10 pressure). Guest guest
Thanks , Right now, Wisconsin still needs furnace heat with temps in between 35 - 40 û this week and maybe 50û by the end of the week. That is a good idea. I need to buy new filters too. I change filters every 3 months, but may do so more often. The foot end of my bed is close to the vent, and I've got the vent closed and covered now, with a pillow, so second hand smoke don't sneak in there from 'his' bathroom. I close the door to keep it cool in there too. I like cool or cold air for sleeping. > Lois, > You might try putting your air cleaner close to you air intake if you have > central air. conditioning.
