Thank you for telling us about the surgery, Debs and Debs' daughter!

A neuroma. Something else to look into. What would cause a neuroma in your

knee near the replacement? Does the removed neuroma get sent off to the lab

for study? Hmmm.

That was tricky of you to have your surgery on the same day it was

originally scheduled, Debs. I just assumed it would be later. What a

surprise. Well, regardless, you didn't escape my prayers!

Recover peacefully and quickly along with Judy in AZ. No goofing around and

riding scooters with Namu or rollerblading with June!

Oh, no! Debs, I'm so sorry about your pneumonia. Please be careful with it.

Pat can give you a in-depth lecture on pneumonia, I'm sure. Unfortunately,

she has too much experience with it now. If I were you, I would go back to

the ER and let them decide what to do.

I'm glad the doctor seemed to have figured out what the problem with your

knee was. Sorry, too, that he didn't do something about it much earlier.

I'll ask you the details later.

I had no idea you were planning a trip to Chicago again and so soon. I hope

you can make it, but concentrate on getting better. That's your first

priority, please.

Feel better soon!

Love,

Debs,

I am so sorry to hear about the pneumonia. I know how you feel. I hope you

are either much better or in the hospital. The best way to beat pneumonia

is in the hospital with IV antibiotics - it is the fastest way to fight it.

Although I ended up with pneumonia, my surgery was well worth it and eased

so much of my pain. I hope and pray the same it true for you.

Hope you are back sharing your Florida sunshine with us before long. You

are in my prayers.

Pat

Debs,

I hope you're feeling better today. I'm worried about you and wonder if you

should be in the hospital with IV's. After hearing what Pat went thought with

pneumonia, I don't want to see you go through it. I've never had pneumonia

either and I'd be scared too. I'm glad they found the problem with your knee

replacement and have fixed it, but so sorry you wound up with pneumonia.

Hope you feel better,

a

I believe that the pain the doctor went in to fix has been fixed. It was a

tendon trapped in scar tissue, (neuroma). If the doctor had only listened to

me when I told him that something was wrong. He has given me some decent

pain medication & back on crutches & ice packs

However, last night was spent in the ER with pneumonia. They let me go home

with a ton of medication including inhalers, antibiotics & cough suppressants

(SP) & because was wbc was not too high. However, right now my chest is

sounding like a percolator & I think I am going to have to go back to ER.

Right now,I am so scared,I have never had pneumonia in my life. I gotta go

now, I am taking the cough syrup every 2 hours instead of 4 hours & my chest

still sounds like a percolator,

I or someone in my family will try to get online & give you an update. I

have to be well by 3-27-01, I am flying to Chicago,to see my sister.

Take care & love to all,

Debs

Hi Debs,

I was so sorry to hear about all the problems you are having. I guess

things didn't go so well for either one of us, with these hospital stays.

I hope you are feeling better very soon. Please let me know how you are

when you get home. You are in my prayers.

Me Mom

Hi Juner,

Well I have finally come to my senses I restarted the 2 medications that I

stopped cold turkey. I stopped the prednisone because my rheumy was so

disgusted with my weight gain of 60 lb from the high doses of prednisone from

the pneumonia & guaranteed (?) that I would feel better within 2 weeks once I

got off the medication. So my thinking was why wait 2 weeks. I have

restarted the prednisone at my regular dose of 7.5 mig & I had already

decreased down to 25 mg from the high dose. It wasn't the way to do things

but we will try this for a while, at least my body is getting some

prednisone. I also cold turkeyed the glucatrol because of this same stupid

lecture that the rheumy gave me about the 2 week thing. I had waited over 2

hours to be seen by him & apparently he had a bad day which I was the lucky

recipient of. My husband of course, took the docs side. My lab tests came

back & my glucose is still quite elevated & knowing better, I went back on

the recommended dosage. With a chronic illness, there a days you just can't

do any of this anymore & chuck it all. And when the people you rely on to

guide your ship don't validate anything, it is hard to be captain, when you

are only a lowly skipper.

I am so sorry that I caused you concern, you sexy young thing, but somehow

this is all going to turn out ok.....Right now, I have been up since 4:00 am

with severe stomach pain, nausea, chest pain, sob & white stools. I know I

need to go to the surgeon or er as I am either passing sludge or this

adhesion pain which is developing into an obstruction. I am trying to

respond to my emails while i wait for percocette, prevacid, tigan & xanax to

kick in.

I have the very best friends in this family & I didn't mean to worry you

guys. Some people (me) shouldn't make decisions like this about medication

without consulting with higher authorities( you guys) first....LOL. Thank

you for being there, my friend,

Love ya,

Aa always,

Debs
