Guest guest
Anne and Susie, thanks for your responses. I really appreciate them, and I get the points you were trying to make. So tomorrow, in an effort to get a better overall picture of what might be going on, my chiropractor is going to be doing some x-rays of my lower back and SI joints, since these seem to be the areas that generate the most pain for me. I think it's going to be a plus going to him over having them done at the hospital, because he has his own equipment, knows how to read x-rays, and he can do it right there on the spot, once they are developed. This will eliminate the need for them to have to be read by the radiologist, which tacks on more money, and then the wait for them to call the doc, and the wait for the doc's office to call me. I'm never sure when they call me that I'm getting the whole story...sometime I feel like they are leaving details out, or doing their own interpritation. At least with Dr. , I know I will actually get to SEE the x-rays! I'm really glad that my chiro is willing to do the x-rays. Seems like he's more interested in the health of my joints than my doctor is at this point! And I'd give him all the props if the x-rays showed that I was developing a spondy, because in a way, it " will " be his discovery! I just feel deep down that it's something more than Fibro and tendonitis. My back has " caught " before, to where I could hardly walk without pain shooting through the area, and couldn't bend or twist. Anne, is this what it's like when your shoulder freezes? My shoulders have yet to lock up on me, but I feel it's only a matter of time, as sore as they've been getting. Especially my right one. Since I had surgery on it, including bone surgery, I feel that it's already started to develop an arthritic condition just from that, and the injury that preceded it. If anything though, I think just that one spot would probably be more along the lines of OA. It makes me feel like my body is falling apart right in front of me. I get one chronic pain problem pretty much under control, only to have another one take it's place. Could it be a spondy? I don't know....but I'm not getting much cooperation from the medical community in order to find out! I'm glad I have the intelligence, the perseverence, and the guidance to keep going after this on my own! I do have one more question before I go. Do a lot of you with the spondys have a high level of piriformis pain? It seems like my massage therapist is constantly working on that area every time I see him, and when I do my stretches, that area always seems to burn. Just curious. Thanks for all of your input. It's invaluable to me! I will keep you all updated on what I find out at the chiro's office! Jen
