Guest guest
It all depends on the rest of your diet. What's it like? ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com fruits/juices/nuts Just a general questions, if weight loss is a primary goal, should I be cutting down my carb consumption in the form of figs and prunes and my juice consumption in the form of pineapple and black cherry juice? I've read that prunes and figs can actually promote weight loss, but I know they are high in carbs which seem counter to O strategy. Is consumption of meat and low carb vegetables the best methods, or should I continue to include the juices and fruits as well? I think nuts are suppose to be avoided for weight loss too, but I just wanted to clarify. Thanks.
Guest guest
You're probably cutting back quite a bit on starchy carbs, so fruits and fruit juice shouldn't be a problem. Somehow I keyed in on pineapple juice and prunes. Although pineapple juice is only a tier II beneficial it helps with fluid retention, something that can hinder weight loss. I have 6oz. pineapple juice and 3 prunes almost every day. Sometimes I also have some prune juice with dinner if I haven't had a bowel movement that day. I never drank juice before because I tend to be hypoglycemic. With the BTD I'm much more tolerant to juices, another sign the diet works for me. There's more to this diet than beef. Make sure you eat a good variety. Dr. D'Adamo even cautions about trying to only eat beneficials. You might do that as a jump start every now and then, but not for prolonged periods. He also says you don't have to eat every beneficial food. I started by identifying a couple of beneficials from each food group to increase or include in my diet. I was loosing weight before BTD and if anything it's easier now. > Just a general questions, if weight loss is a primary goal, should I > be cutting down my carb consumption in the form of figs and prunes > and my juice consumption in the form of pineapple and black cherry > juice? Guest guest
On an average day I have green tea and either left over meat, or eggs for breakfast. I drink water in between. Lunch is usually a hearty salad with romaine, spinach, onions, artichokes, red peppers, some form of meat and some olive oil and lemon juice. I usually have some juice in between there, primarily pineapple or black cherry, and sometimes some prunes or figs. Then dinner is usually fish, chicken or beef with broccoli, spinach, odd time rice. Then later I have club soda and peppermint tea. This is of course an ideal day, and typically what I stick to when working. > It all depends on the rest of your diet. > What's it like? > > > ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com > fruits/juices/nuts > > Just a general questions, if weight loss is a primary goal, should I > be cutting down my carb consumption in the form of figs and prunes > and my juice consumption in the form of pineapple and black cherry > juice? Guest guest
Wow, you are really good...much better than me, so you should have no problem at all. You might have the club soda 20 minutes before dinner. It's supposed to induce gastrin production to help with digestion. I saw that in a D'Adamo Q/A. You might also experiment with limiting starchy carbs to meals before 5pm, won't make a difference in weight loss, but could shift more to fat loss. > > It all depends on the rest of your diet. > > What's it like? > > > > > > ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com > > fruits/juices/nuts > > > > Just a general questions, if weight loss is a primary goal, should > I > > be cutting down my carb consumption in the form of figs and prunes > > and my juice consumption in the form of pineapple and black cherry > > juice? Guest guest
You'd need to eat more protein due to the extra carbs from dried fruits.
