I will tell you what has worked for me but it is a lot of trouble and most

people won't bother.

Never eat fruit with other foods, eat alone.

corkdood2004 wrote:

are you alleric to soy ? otherwise you can make your own soy milk (no

additives, no corn syrup) or find soy milk to have with puffed rice.

what about just plain cooked rice for breakie rather than buying something

processed

If you think about what peasants eat in third world countries you might get an

idea of where I am going

keep your diet plan and simple

forget boring, it won't be boring when you feel ten times better :-)

>Lunch banana, apple ricecakes water

if it was me I would cut out the sugar foods like fruit for a while

and try to have cooked things instead of raw

pay attention and stay away from foods which cause problems

if you can eat rice start with white rice (easier to digest) and add one vegi

and one protein and see how that goes

rotate your foods so in case you aren't away of an intollerance you won't

trigger it when you first start and can let your system calm down

>Dinner: Beef, Chicken or lamb with boiled brown rice and frozen veg

white rice is easier to digest than brown rice

up to you :-)

>typically green beans, carrots and fresh lettuce.

cook all your foods some, I have learned from Traditional Chinese Medicine how

to calm down my stomach

no raw foods, everything is steamed or stir fried slightly in grapeseed oil or

olive oil, not too hot fire

raw salads are the kiss of death for people with digestive problems

>Evening fresh fruit smoothie with Udo's Oil

don't mix fruit with other foods - very hard on digestion

eat them alone and don't mix types of fruits, like don't mix citrus and sweet

things, and acutally better to eat simply like one type of fruit by itself and

let it go for an hour before eating something else

>Where am I going wrong - I've eliminated dairy, wheat and corn

>completely but still feel the same. How long should it take to feel

>better?

eat many small meals throughout the day

keep a diary of what you eat and eventually it will become apparent if you have

other food intollerances.

>My wife is also following the diet - she has a stone of excess weight

>to lose and is following the same regime (but is having rye bread as

>she is not celiac). She has also seen no results this week.

>

Grains are very hard to Type Os. I eat only rice on occasion. I used to have

a small amount of spelt pasta once a week and when I got away from it and went

back to it after a month, it sat in my stomach like a rock.

No raw foods ever until your stomach calms down, then you might try to introduce

a banana if you can eat them

don't mix proteins and fruits and such

eat nuts alone unless you are having almond butter with something like celery

and then don't mix that with a different type of protein.

for example, don't eat fish and beef in the same meal (the turf and surf stuff

is very hard stomach)

don't eat nut butter and other protein like soy or meat in same meal

small meals -->> graze

always somewhat cooked

stay away from spices for a while and see if that helps

and Chinese tell me not to put things like rice crackers into stomach dry

Americans say don't drink liquids with food

I used to have terrible stomach problems

I got Acupuncture and went with only stews and soups for NINE MONTHS.

Wow! am I doing much better.

Gradually add things in ONLY one at a time, like one spice, or one food you

might suspect and then wait a couple of days before eating it again.

Lots of work though. :-)

et a book on traditional chinese medicine that too while you follow the Eat

Right food plan

I rarely eat avoids, buy organic, and I get a huge amount of exercise and drink

nothing from plastic. but that wasn't enough. I had to get acupuncture, and

had to start eating very simply, not mixing too much stuff, and cook it all.

You can mix different types of vegis, tho, that is fine. I used to make my

salad, put a TINY amount of vinegar on it and oil and then toss that into a pan

and cook it a bit.

It is very easy to buy any kind of meat and put it in the over at 275º for hours

(all day with LOTS of water to be sure to cover it enough) and have it cooked

so that it melts in your mouth. Then cook the vegis at the last minute in it.

Your stomach will heal up if given a chance. Try not to eat when you are

upset. Try to visulize pleasant things when you eat or listen to calming music.

One place that I can get peace is in my car and I am known to always have a

cooler with food in it with me and I can eat in quite if I choose. Of course

no one can do the ideal all of the time, but adding small changes into your life

over a period of years will add up to be positive. Good luck.

I forgot one thing ... try not to eat anything cold, like no ice and no

refrigerator temperature. Try to be sure everything is room temperature or

warmed up some. Much easier on stomach. Try to eat as much variety over time

within ER4YT as you can. Some foods will support different organs and some

will support others according to TCM. Cat

WHERE'S THE BEEF? Think protein protein protein. Eggs, steak, roast, etc

for breakfast and lunch. Don't shift from avoids to neutrals (we all made the

same mistake when we started). Shift to beneficials with a few neutrals and no

avoids. Protein and fat are cornerstones to type Os on this diet. You do

that and you should start feeling better in about 4 days then you can spend the

next couple of years healing. Trash all of that low fat, balanced meal

thinking. Start munching on MEAT with lots of fat in it!!!

You might try DGL licorice and/or a bladderwrack supplement to help

with healing your digestive tract. 2 tsp ghee per day is also good

for the colon. Check the protocols at www.dadamo.com, probably

stomach, intestinal and colon health.

Yes, give STOMACH EASE a try. It contains both nutrients along with some

supportive anti oxidants.

Just click on this link to see the product.

I won't be the only one to make this comment, but looks like I'm the first...

As an O is is important that you have protein at EVERY meal - it is the

foundation of the O program. It seems you have kept your old regime of grains

and sugars and simply replaced the ingredients.

What you need is to rebuild your diet from scratch using the O food frequencies

found in the books and remember: more protein, more veggies, less grains and

sugars

Good luck!

Newbie just starting out with ER4YT

Hi folks

i'm just getting starting with this diet. My background is that I'm

celiac but have had ten years of stomach trouble - cramps and

discomfort despite followng a gluten free diet. I've had lots of

medical tests which have drawn a blank so now i'm trying this diet.

As I type O I know I need to avoid wheat, corn and dairy. Wheat is

not a problem as due to my gluten allergy I have gluten free bread.

However there is gluten free wheat starch in this so I've cut it out

just to be on the safe side.

As far as I can see the only grain which is safe to have is rice so

I've switched to puffed rice cereal (instead of cornflakes) and

ricecakes. I'm also having pineapple juice instead of milk and drink

only water - no tea coffee or fizzy drinks.

I've been following this regime for over a week now and feel no

benefit whatsoever. My stomach aches continue day in day out and I

don't have any more energy.

Am I hoping for improvements too soon or am I missing something. My

daily diet looks like this

Breakfast puffed rice ceral and pineapple juice, ricecakes water

Lunch banana, apple ricecakes water

Dinner: Beef, Chicken or lamb with boiled brown rice and frozen veg

typically green beans, carrots and fresh lettuce.

Evening fresh fruit smoothie with Udo's Oil

Where am I going wrong - I've eliminated dairy, wheat and corn

completely but still feel the same. How long should it take to feel

better?

My wife is also following the diet - she has a stone of excess weight

to lose and is following the same regime (but is having rye bread as

she is not celiac). She has also seen no results this week.

Has anyone found their progress to be as slow as ours?

Since you're gluten intolerant, you probably read labels very

carefully, but just in case. Are you sure the puffed rice is all

rice? Some have corn as a second ingredient. Barbara's brown rice

crisps are pretty clean. Also the rye bread needs to be 100% rye

which is not too easy to find. It's usually in the refrigerated

section. Just wanted to be sure you weren't getting hidden wheat or

corn.

Good luck,

Cheryl

Also, I wanted to add that you seem to be consuming too many grains in one day.

If you read LR4YT carefully you'll notice that O+ (secretors) should only have

about 1/2 cup of grains on a daily basis. That's not that much. Essentially

it's 2 slices of bread or a bowl of cereal or a side of rice and that's it and

if you're O- and non-secretor it's even less...By the way, can celiacs consume

Ezekial bread? Does the fact that the grains are sprouted mean that there is no

agglutination?

Yes, no bad lectins, BUT grains are still hard for Type O stomachs to digest.

Another issue comes with people who do a LOT of high INTENSITY exercise for a

long time.

Like 2-4 hours a day, 5 days a week. That kind of high intensity exercise

requires more carbohydrates.

I do not necessarily mean bad starches, but enough carbs, but I can tell you

after being on this food plan seriously for 7 years that it had to be adjusted

somewhat depending upon your health and your lifestyle.

If one is not exercising a lot, one can get along on salads and meat. But if

one starts to do a lot of sustained high intensity exercise and keeps it up for

years, one will just start craving carbs and then binge if a small amount is not

planned into the diet, like a small amount of rice, or sweet potatoes, or

something a little more than salad greens, if that makes sense.

You may need some acidophilus. It helps replace the good digestive bacteria,

necessary for proper digestion. More than likely yours is not good.
