Guest guest
I read the Metabolic Diet book too and felt the same way about the questions, way too subjective, confusing, and dependant on what you have been eating, including what " rules " you having eating by. Based on that and other reasons I didn't care much for the book. I enjoyed your closing thoughts. I occasionally think about this issue. How much longer am I going to search for the answer(s) before I throw up my hands and say " I give up " . I just want to find the missing piece of the puzzle then after that I truly believe I can coast along doing what works without a second thought. Don Wolcott Book I just got Wolcott's book on the Metabolic Diet, and am reading it. Some people combine his diet with the blood type diet... I am really blown away by some of the things he says about how a vitamin or food or whatever can affect different people so radically different. I've read some of that from D'Adamo, but Wolcott words it more strongly... blew me away, totally radical idea. WOW. When I went to take the written test in the book, I am finding that I have alot of trouble with most of the questions about how differnt food make you feel. I've read so many books about diet, and rules on how to eat, now I can't clear these out of my head to know what I really feel as opposed to what I'm supposed to feel. I never realized that before! For example, he asks some questions about how eating before going to bed at night affects your sleep. I've been going by this rule, never eat before bedtime, there should be at least 3 hours between the meal and bedtime.... I have no idea how eating before bedtime affects me. Bunches of other questions I had similar reactions to. So I skipped all the questions that puzzled me, and the ones that I could answer tallied heavy on the protein type... which fits together easily with type O. Now I just bought the " Dr Abravanels Body Type Diet and Lifetime " used on amazon.com for one penny...dunno why they are selling them so cheap, there's a couple more if anyone's interested. It came to $3.50 with the shipping. But back to the issue of my being so out of touch with what I really feel when I eat... I'm so caught up in all these rules... makes me realize how much I WORRY about food and being healthy, that I'm not relaxed... kinda sad... I would like not to worry.... - T

Quit reading every diet book out there and trying to apply them all. Use BTD and possible Metabolic type. Do it as beneficial as possible and DON'T mix lots of different types of foods. Great suggestion!! Most weight loss diets work but I always ended up slim and sick and then gained the weight back. This is the only diet where I continually feel great and lose weight at the same time albeit slowly. I also think it's dangerous to use your body to experiment with strange herb remedies unless you've got some valid, serious research backing up the treatment. Guest guest
That sounds like very wise advice. Thanks. - T > I am a LOW protein type. I have known for awhile that I don't do as well with mostly protein and very low carbs. > > And a suggestion. Remember, in many cases we are eating a lot more than we need. Make it very nourising. > > Kathy >
