Guest guest
Hello everyone! I am so excited I just picked up CRYT today at the library. My husband and I are ready to take this healthy step in our lives. We are both O positive and overweight, looking forward to weight loss and general health benefits. The thing I love is that a lot of foods that I love are beneficial to me and a lot I avoid already are bad, so the science behind it all makes sense to me. I have a question though to the group. I have candida overgrowth. I know cutting out the sugars with the type O diet will be beneficial, but has anyone had any succes controlling candida with this diet? If so what modifications did ou need to make to the diet? Thank you so much! (and Mike)
Guest guest
I am a man of few words and this response is no exception. MOST OF YOUR PROBLEMS WILL DISSAPEAR. Eat 100% HB foods only Eat simple. Eat fruits away from other foods. Eat raw before cooked. Keep your protein up & carbs down. Think of yourself as a lion. The O diet is very different from what conventional wisdom teaches us. It isn't about replacing wheat bread with Ezekiel bread. Eliminate starches from your diet. Once you are at where you want to be cheat no more then once a week. Love http://www.foodforyourblood.com <http://www.foodforyourblood.com/> New here/new to diet Hello everyone! Guest guest
Following a beneficial O diet is a great anti candida diet. I seem to get increased results with people if you boost your digestive tract to with a treatment of an anti yeast formula with grapefruit seed extract and a heavy course of acidophilus for about 3 to 4 weeks. Then some acidophilus on a regular basis for a few months. You will usually figure out when you need more after that. Guest guest
" What are HB foods? " -- Ahhhhh. Fresh meat...er, I mean, a newbie! Oh goodie! HB stands for Highly Beneficial. A stands for Avoid. Guess what N stands for? NB is neutral beneficial. BTD is not body-type diet on this list. The body type diet is something else. Like all of the others, the body-type diet does not " fit the bill " for the discriminating health-conscious, responsible person. I'm not saying that the doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) or their Western equivalents (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph) aren't valid in understanding individual's differences, just that they are not the focus of this nutritonal theory. So while the body-type diet was the first to claim the BTD acronym, by our usage in this list it is synonymous with Blood-Type Diet of the ABO blood groups. " Any basics that I can't live without? " -- Quick Answer 1: all the HBs you really like! Fats: olive oil, ghee (or good butter if you can stand it). Some weirdos here aren't afraid of the natural grass-fed animal fats either. In-Depth Answer 2: Well... I would have to say red meat. Get it, cook it, eat it. I'd do it every danged day. Although some people on this list say " moderation " and still blindly subscribe to the idea that a variety of foods is the best guarantee of avoiding nutritional deficiences, I would have to say if there is any one food which would be my staple, if I was abducted by lazy aliens who quickly probed me and interrogated me and only wanted to know of ONE food I could live on for the rest of my life (because they planned on keeping me for a zoo specimen (yes, my O body is THAT wonderful now!) I would have to say I could eat every day for the rest of my life and still live fairly well on the meat and the fat of acceptable red meat mammals. I'm talking venison, elk, beef, lamb, buffalo... Some people might say " careful, you don't want to overdose on any one food " but I would argue that since red meat is the basis of us cave-man types, and that it just plain makes common sense that simply the full flesh of the animals like us would provide the most of what it is we need to sustain our own bodies, and that we are the most well-suited for such a food, than THAT should be what we eat, day in, day out, without reservation, without conservation, without looking back, without the nibbling doubts of vegetarianism or veganism instilled by erroneous environmentally/globally concerned people. If there are any such ethical/moral/religious concerns, we should take the time to acquaint ourselves with the truth of sustainable, balanced agricultural methods and the ecological function of red meat mammals eating their natural diet in their natural environment. Whew! This list is packed with health-issues that extend beyond the blood-type diet. Really, to live in this world with the fear that awareness brings you can't just read some books and think that you'll be fine shopping for your family at the convenient supermarket. When Dr. D says " choose organic meats over regular supermarket meats " and says they are dietarily two different foods, we take it to heart. Organic is better than grade " A " feedlot (should be grade " F " , F for Feedlot >: [ ) and organic that is entirely free-range and grass-fed is better than organic that is partially free-range and finished with a grain-based bulking diet for maximum profit. If your red meat is partially grain-fed for cheaper marketability than it is best to get at least grass-finished organic as the big mammals lose their desirable fatty-acid profile if not allowed the grass and miscellaneous foragables they want. (check out www.eatwild.com for more info on natural diet meats if you like). Candida. It is a yeast... seems to do well on sugars, but the big D downplays that in " CR4YT " . Still, it would be best, once you've got this floral imbalance (is that legal english?) staying on a true low-carb O diet is definently helpful. The O diet is basically a lower-carb diet than the typical Western diet, and definently low-carb compared to the USDA food-pyramid (which is now thankfully in the process of being slowly toppled!!!! HA HA HA HA HA!). Don't feed 'em with sugars. I've read that grape-seed extract is an anti-fungal and helps specifically with Candida (I think it has antibiotic properties too?). Re-poopulating the gut with foods like sea vegetables helps with this imbalance, and of course Deflect and the NAP D'Adamo BT probiotics also help restore order to your 'stines. You could get some Grape-Seed extract, and/or Deflect-O or the D'Adamo probiotics for Os. Do a search with lycos or google or something, like " candida " and/or " supplement " and/or " diet " and/or " food " etc. etc. If something pops up that you know is an avoid for your type, simply don't eat it! Or you could just get the " Eat Right 4(for) Your Type Encyclopedia " !! It's the A-Z reference guide for the blood-type connection to symptoms, disease, conditions, vitamins, supplements, herbs and food! Reading through it I am learning more about the human body and diseases than I thought I would, in this book they go in greater depth about many thing, so it isn't just a " remedy " or " look things up for a certain problem " fix-it yourself book, it also serves as an educational book. I haven't gotten very far yet, busy LIVING the O life, but I can say it is a good buy for anyone interested in learning more about the human body. An indispensable reference book for anyone who's learned to respect this ground-breaking theory. HTH Axel O+ secretor Re: New here/new to diet What are HB foods? Make sure you ease into the diet to avoid serious detoxification side effects. Those can make you really sick! In ER4YT and LR4YT, Dr. D. recommends that first cut out all of the avoids, then gradually shift from neutrals into mostly HB foods. This way, your system won't go into total shock. Guest guest
Whew! Thank you Axel, and everyone else who responded regarding the candida questions. We just went on our whole foods shopping trip and had some yummu salmon and sweet potatoes last night. It was really easy to stock the fridge, since we moved, and now the whole house is filled with nothing but hb and neutral foods. Now I just need to move on to actually following those serving guidelines (Ezekial morning noon and night can't be good) and we'll be on better track! I've done a lot of research on candida in general so i know the supplements. Unfortunately, since its not a " real " disease, according to so many in the medical profession, there is a lot of conflicting information about how to treat it. Hopefully this will help, because strict atkins is definately not compliant with real life. Axel Hultman wrote: " What are HB foods? " -- Ahhhhh. Fresh meat...er, I mean, a newbie! Oh goodie! Guest guest
, It's not too late! I picked out a lot of neutrals to supplement my mainly HB diet so I could ease myself into it. heather27r wrote: > Hello everyone! > > I am so excited I just picked up CRYT today at the library.
