Guest guest
Yes, Regina, many of us have been there. Don't worry about whining, cause many of us have been there, done that also. It also lets us know what some of your problems are. When I started this diet, I couldn't lift an ironstone plate without hurting. It took me about a month to get fully on the O way of eating, maybe 6 weeks. Now I only have flareups when I'm baaaddd, like right after a long weekend with my family, since I don't ask them to cook for just me. I do take my Ezekiel bread and snacks along. You'll notice that I'm including a spelt bread recipe for a bread machine. That's because when I started there was no way I have kneaded the bread without hurting. Spelt Bread Recipe By : Howell Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 Cups water 1 1/3 teaspoons yeast 2 tablespoons powdered soy-milk 2 tablespoons canola oil ( use grape seed oil or olive oil here) 2 teaspoons turbinado sugar(honey or molasses here) 1 1/2 t. salt 2 1/4 c whole-grain spelt flour ( you can use 4 1/4 cups white or whole-grain spelt flour) 2 cups white spelt flour 1 tablespoon gluten flour (optional) Measure all ingredients in the order listed into bread machine's baking pan. Place in machine chamber, secure, and close lid. Select " basic " bread setting and whatever type crust desired. Makes 1 2 lb loaf Re: New with questions > > Sorry for the whining :-( But I am sure someone here has been > where I am > > at right now one time or another. > > > > Thanks > > > > Regina > > Yep. Guest guest
Thank you ! I will try making this today. I have a bread machine and will use that. I let the machine do the kneading and then I cook it in the oven. I like bread better this way. Regina Re: New with questions and Spelt Bread Recipe Yes, Regina, many of us have been there. Guest guest
Be sure to stop it after the 1st mix. Don't let it rise until you put it in the pan. Use a little oil on your hands when you take it out of the machine. Spelt gluten only needs to rise once. It's too delicate to rise twice and will bake flatter. If you do your own kneading after the dough comes out, make it only once and for half the time. RE: New with questions and Spelt Bread Recipe > Thank you ! I will try making this today. Guest guest
Spelt gluten only needs to rise once>> Hmmm......I always rise mine twice and get very high loaves. The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the one doing it. ~ Chinese Proverb
Guest guest
I'm glad to hear that. I was trying to just go to the end of the dough cycle and take mine out and let it raise. I also tried letting it go through the whole cycle and had a square loaf, as if I had used 100% rye flour.
