Kate,

Thank you! I'm trying to put what the three of you (You, , and

) have said and make some sense out of it.

Two eggs then equals 14 grams, right? And for every ounce of other

protein, like tuna or beef, I subtract 7 grams for every ounce? So 4

ounces of protein would equal 28 grams? And 1 oz. of Mozzarella is 7

grams as well? Am I getting this right, I hope?

Jemmi *_*

says that 7 grams = 1 oz. of protein. So 220 grams divided

by 7 grams per ounce comes out to about 31 ounces of protein. Yes

this is a lot by most standards, and I rarely get my 26 oz. of

protein a day. When I get close on a regular basis, I do feel much

better. Then you won't 'need' those carbs so much.

You've got it for a good rule of thumb. I ended up getting a book for about

$5.00 that listed the calories, carbs, fat, protein, etc for common foods and

you may want to do that. Every food has a different protein count. Of

course, they usually list them as 4 ounce portions so you'll still have to do

the

math--LOL.

Here is a chart I use whenever I want to know the numbers; the address is:

www.caloriecountercharts.com/chart1a.htm

whew! that's a long one...it lists the weight of various foods in grams and also

protein in grams, so you will still have to do the conversions if you want

ounces. You will be an expert in math after tracking a few meals.

Bien, ...O you know what

There is a free online site http://www.fitday.com where you can

enter the foods you've eaten, and it will tell you the percentages of

fats, proteins, carbs and fiber as well as the total grams of each.

You can track your weight there too, and it will analyze the vitamin

and mineral content of your foods for the day. I've been using it

for quite a while, and it's a very nice tool. No need to do any

math, but it does get tedious entering everything.

Apologies in advance if my post about fitday.com shows up twice.

This first post hadn't appeared 24+ hours after I sent it (from the

website), so I tried again.

The 2nd post has yet to appear (another 24+ hours later), so it may

still be sitting around on 's server somewhere.
