Guest guest
Hello, Me Mom ! Hope you don't think I've been ignoring you. I'm still thinking about your complicated mess!!! I am really at a loss as what to advise except for my same old song: don't give up on the idea of JH or Mayo. I'm sorry that it looks like you have to do the ERCP and stent routine again. Who would do it? The regular local GI guy against whom I am still holding a grudge? I'm hoping that Debs will throw in her two cents here, even if she has to have come and take dictation. Did any of your many doctors ever say what they believed the reason for your high cholesterol is? It's not unreasonable to think that it's related to all of this, but I'm wondering what they thought about it. I'm glad you are on break. Writing a book sounds like a marvelous diversion! Hope that it works out and that you have fun doing it. I'd love to read the manuscript when it's ready. We are all fine here, thank you. I know you really aren't OK, but I hope that those you love are. Guest guest
Hi , The GI doctor at Chestnut Hill will do the ERCP and I guess that is okay. I really don't want to go backdown to the U. of P.. Guess I have gotten to know everyone at CH. Yes the cholesterol is playing a part in all of this. So we have to get it under control again. The high choleserol is genetic, a number of people in my family have it as does my son. Even if him and his wife don't choose to do anything about that, enough of them. I just want to get through Easter. I am hoping if the ERCP has to be done, we can do it Easter Monday. The following Sat., my daughter Cherylynn is going to her prom. I don't want to miss that night. Our book is exciting, and I believe that is what we will be working on. It will take time but that is okay. We have already picked out ten houses, but certainly we will need many more. They are all over the place here. I will be happy to give you a copy when it is completed. I haven't forgotten about JH or Mayo. I had to study for the mid-term I didn't do get on, plus my final project is due very soon. I have a little ways to go with that, I hope to graduate in May. We will see, how it goes. How you have a good night, Me Mom ---------- > From: Matsumura <Matsumura_Clan@...> > > Subject: Re: [ ] saw primary > Date: Friday, April 06, 2001 11:46 AM > > Hello, Me Mom ! > > Hope you don't think I've been ignoring you. Guest guest
Me Mom , I know you're not thrilled about getting the stent. I hope it makes you feel better in the end, and you don't have any bad reactions. I have a BIL that lives in Warminster. There are some beautiful homes in that area. His isn't a historical one, so it won't be on your list. Prom time is so much fun. I enjoyed helping my daughter get ready for hers. I hope you are recovered so that you can enjoy it. Those cholesterol numbers are so high! I hope the meds bring it down and they get to the bottom of why it is so high. Graduating in May is so exciting. Congratulations scholar! hugs, a
Guest guest
Hi a. I am not happy about the stent but I don't know what else to do. I saw my sons father-in-law last night. He told me,he looked into another doctor for me, but he was told I have seen the very best. He told me, he doesn't believe another doctor could offer anything. The doctor at the U. of P. is the best and I should listen to him. I don't think I agree with all this 100%. My insurance will pay for another opinion. The cholesterol promblem is genetic. My sons is very high even he doesn't bother with it. He does get it from me, my younger brother who had a heart transplant a year ago has it. I hope I can complete my final project so I can graduate in May. I will still be at the college, I am working on a history degree. I need about 8 more classes for that, then I think I am going to Temple. They have offered me a nice package, I want to apply to a couple of other schools, so nothing is final yet. Did you see that MTI I think is going to offer courses on line. I will be interested in see what that is all about. I would probably have trouble with that I need to be in the classroom. I don't have the intelligence for doing it on my own. I may have the school wrong but it is one of the top universities. This prom stuff is fun, she was walking around in her dress last night. It is not the dress I would like her to have but she is happy. She told me next year I can fufu her up. Hope you are feeling well!!!! ---------- > From: a <paula54@...> > > Subject: Re: [ ] saw primary > Date: Tuesday, April 10, 2001 7:40 PM > > Me Mom , > I know you're not thrilled about getting the stent. Guest guest
Hi , to released me to my primary. I guess the GI doctor could call him but I do believe his work is done. I am stronger and except for the fatigue I do feel better. Eating well I think this issue is with me the rest of my life. What is so frustrating is no one seems to know a lot about this Whipple and nutrition. Laurie even looked into it and no studies have been done long term to see how people fare. I know the reason is almost all people who have this surgery have cancer and the survival rate is not good. I do eat fish mostly, I am going for the protein thing. I can eat oatmeal and I just found rice milk for cereal. Since the stomach is so small I can eat much at all. Anyway this is the hand I have been dealt so I think the best thing to do is just deal with it. I am getting my walking machine back from my son, he doesn't use it. So I am hoping to build myself up by walking. I have to call the GI specialist tomorrow so I will let you know what she says. Thanks for asking but I am okay and getting stronger. Believe it or not it has been 12 weeks. I forgot the primary told me, they may have to put me on an anti-biotic to help with the digestion. I have to find out more about that. He told me I really needed the flu shot, I got it because I trust him so much. I'm not sure how I feel about the flu injection, he also gave me the pneumonia (sp) injection. I thought that was a good idea since I am going on remicade after Christmas. Have a good day, hope you are feeling better. I know you have been sick a lot lately. Done you Christmas shopping yet????? Guest guest
I know what you mean about fatigue.I am going through that now. Especially being the end of semester, plus RA and now they want to test me for iron-deficiency because of some other problems I have been having. I did my Christmas shopping early before I was so tired. I have 2 weeks left of school and I just want to get through them. Guest guest
Hi a, When I read your note I keep thinking you are not feeling so great. If you could sleep more you would feel better and that would help with the pain. Wish I could give you some advise. I hope you can get to school even if it is one class. I think if you tell the teacher you will be going away they would work with you. You could do the work on vacation or before you leave. They may even give you something else to do. I think school gets our minds off of things a little. Great news about your son, I'm sure he will do well in college. You are righ about the fatigue and the RA. I just spoke to the Rheumy and he suggested for the pain I am in to up the pred., I hate to do that but he said with the holidays it would be better to be a little comfortable. I am only on 6mg so I guess I will go to 7. I am going to take a IV that has a drug in it like fosamax, it is experiment but right now I am worried about the bones deteriorating. The classes I am taking are:American Studies Seminar and Principles of Economics: Macro both are have to take classes. Now I have five classes left to graduate, so we will see. I sure hope you feel better real soon. I think of you often. Guest guest
Hi Colleen, The fatigue is terrible. What happens is I go to bed at 8:30 because I can't stay awake and than I am up at 4a.m.. So now I have to keep myself up till 11 so I don't get up so early. I think the fatigue is so bad between the nutrition, surgery, and RA I am getting it all ways. Hope you are having a good day. Guest guest
Hi Lynn: Yeah the fatigue is so bad for me that I go to bed around 9pm and then don't get up until 11 or 12 the next day. (unless I have to be to school early and I have to drag myself out of bed). Some mornings I even wake up with a headache. I don't know if this is from sleeping too long or what. Today was a day like that. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and I got up at 11:30 this morning. And I STILL feel tired. Guest guest
Hi Colleen, Hope you start to feel better maybe when your semester is over. We have a number of school people on the list. I go to college, as does a, , and I think a few others. Hope I am not forgetting anyone. I think it is good to go gives us something else to think about. Plus it gets you moving. I had to drop a semester because of the surgery and I hated doing that. I am anxious to get back. After the next semester I have 5 classes to go and than it is on to Temple. I am hoping to enter in the end or middle of my junior year. Hope to day is better for you. Guest guest
Well I am still a junior. I ended up failing 1 class last semester because I was having problems (when I was first diagnosed with RA). So it put me behind a whole year...for one class. So I will be graduating in 2003 and then getting married either that year or 2004. It's exciting but tiring... Good luck with school. Today is going a little bit better...still VERY tired... Colleen Check out my website at: http://www.geocities.com/callyanne21/ >From: " Ruf-Caimi " <ruf-caimi@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: [ ] saw primary >Date: Wed, 28 Nov 2001 13:41:59 -0500 > >Hi Colleen, > Hope you start to feel better maybe when your semester is over.
