Hi everyone,

I am in need of some of your knowledgeable feedback on a problem I am

experiencing.

I returned home on Wed. after spending 3 days in hospital to correct a

sodium imbalance. It had been 120 brought up to 135. (normal low - 134)

On Thursday I had another blood test taken. Dr. just called -- back

down to 130. (had fallen 5 points in 24 hours)

Does anyone have any thoughts on why this could be happening? Thanks

for any help.

Wanda - celery juice (fresh preferred) will bring up your sodium level.

Have you changed anything in your diet?

What is your diet like?

The only change I made recently was a 2 1/2 day fast. (Master Lemon

Cleanse)

<1 T lemon jc, 1/2 T maple syrup, 1/8 tsp cayenne.> in 8 oz water 8

times a day. It ended last Sun. noon.

I have checked all over my small town and found no one who does juicing

any longer. (I don't own one) I did find a HFS 20 miles away that has

an organic 99% celery jc. that is made in switzerland. Would that do in

a pinch? Or would it work if I made a celery broth or soup?

My diet is about 85% or higher compliant.

Been on BTD almost 6 years.

Breakfast: 2 T. flax seed soaked in warm water. -- 2 organic eggs or

Left over meat or fish and veggies from night before.

Lunch: Salmon or Tuna Salad -- romaine salad with veggies/W strips of

chicken, turkey or beef. Sometimes a smoothie made with Dr. D's protein

mix, blueberries and banana.

Dinner: 4 oz of grass fed beef, lamb, buffalo or wild salmon. Green

salad.

Veggies and about once a week either wild rice or sw. potato.

Fruit, berries, almonds and walnuts as snacks. I use only olive oil and

ghee.

How much water and do you drink in small amounts every hour of the day?

Have you had your adrenals checked. Deficient adrenals can cause sodium

dumping.

You may just need to eat more salt -- preferably unrefined sea salt (Celtic

salt)

, You asked how much water I drank?

I used to try to drink about 10 glasses per day. But lately it had

become more like 8 glasses.

While in hospital they had me cut down to 100 cc's within 24 hours. ( 70

day and 30 night.)

I didn't have instructions to still keep it low so the past couple of

days -- it's been about 32 oz. Wanda

Diet looks good, but how much salt do you use?

The bottle juice (Biotta brand) is good.

PS: why the fast? Way too much maple syrup. Your diet looks good enough

already.

These special cures are for people who live on avoids.

An endocronologist is who would test the adrenals. Not sure what the test

involves.

It would not be common for the adrenals to be shut down but it can happen.

May just be some imbalance from the cleansing.

Licorice root tea may help and eat some good salt every day.

Sip your water but don't drink too little.

No, I haven't had my adrenals checked.

What type of test is required for that?

, I realize that without the processed food that most of the

country uses, my salt intake is limited---therefore I try very hard to

remember to add salt to the food that I eat. I use sea salt, but not

celtic. will remedy that tomorrow. Wanda

, you asked Why the fast?

It was the suggestion of my Dr. who felt I was toxic. The original

mixture called for 1 T. of maple syrup --- I cut it in half.

Over a period of about 6 years, I had lost 75 lbs. --slowly, but

steadily. The past two years I have remained at a stand still, I

haven't gained, but no loss. I still need to lose about 30 or 40 lbs

and she thought this cleanse might jump start the weight loss. As a

heart patient--I really need to get it off. .... Wanda

In that case you have to adjust your diet. Obviously, the cleanse isn't

good for you.

My chiropractor had me do a test for my adrenals which involved sending a

saliva sample to a lab. I think he understood what was going on better than

the endocrinologist did. The chiropractor gave me some supplements for my

adrenals (after muscle testing to determine which ones I needed) which

helped a lot.

, I wish to thank you for your help with my sodium problem. I

drank two bottles of the Biotta Celery Juice over the weekend and

today's blood test showed my sodium to be in the normal range.---but was

called back for a re-draw as my potassium was too high. It must have

been a lab error --- I just got word that the new test had it high but

still within the safe range.

Thanks also to Kathy, , and Tamara for your help. I really

appreciated it. ...Wanda

You are welcome Wanda!

Remember that potassium depletes sodium and vice versa. That is why

carrot/celery juice is so much prescribed.
