Guest guest
I hear ya, Tom, the sad thing is the farmer gets paid next to nothing for his trouble and then the seed companies want to make everything genetically engineered to boot. Don't get me started on that...... arrrggghh Emmi
Guest guest
Also watch for little rice shaped pasta pieces mixed with rice. Sizzler gives you that rice/pasta combo when you order rice. Corn is chasing me! I don't eat out very often, but it seems the last few times I have I've noticed a trend I don't like! Corn mixed into rice. I order a very O friendly meal of Fish or chicken and steamed or grilled veggies and a side of rice (which I save til later for food combining purposes) and when the meal comes or when I first open it what is mixed in with one of the few grains I can have occasionally as a non-secretor? CORN! This corn lobby has got to be stopped! They have corn syrup, corn syrup solids, corn-syrup sweetened fructose, corn on the cob, canned corn, creamed corn, corn starch, popcorn, corn flour and apparently it must cost next to nothing to produce because companies love to substitute it for other ingredients and I'm sure it's related to make a little higher profit margin for something that will taste similar. There are so many foods that are almost allowable except for their little version of a corn product! LOL OK I feel better now for not being able to eat the rice I got today later (I don't want to pick it out ya know :-)) Tom Type O, Non-Secretor Arlington, TX
Guest guest
Orzo is my mortal enemy Well, after 's condensed soup. I always have to ask if the rice is just rice or I get nasty surprises. Guest guest
I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised one time. I ordered a Halibut dinner at Rockfish, a local seafood restaurant. When I received it I noticed the rice was bright yellow. I asked what they used on the rice and to my pleasant surprise they used a lot of turmeric. Just had to tell the good side to these experiences too :-) This was what started me using Turmeric and eventually led to me beginning to use all the beneficial spices :-) _____ From: [mailto:bloggertypeo@...] Sent: Friday, June 18, 2004 5:16 PM Subject: RE: Corn is chasing me! Guest guest
Just found them this weekend, was going to tell you about them. Good source of rainbow trout, also have fresh steelhead trout and wild Alaskan salmon at this time. I was torn between the rainbow trout vs. fresh trout, but beneficial beats polyamine free for me. They also had pepper mills and sea salt mills on the table. I bought a pair for use in restaurants that don't have these. Small enough to stash in my purse. Thanks for the info on the turmeric, I didn't ask. > I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised one time. I ordered a Halibut > dinner at Rockfish, a local seafood restaurant.
