Guest guest
I saw this article today about the cost of diets, Atkins about $100 a week and South Beach about $90 a week. It probably doesn't include supplements either. Looks like you did a great job! http://www.azcentral.com/health/diet/articles/0506diet-budget-ON.html- -- In , " Tom " <tomwilson64@y...> wrote: > I hit a big budget crunch last month and needed to watch every penny so I > was saving all my receipts. Guest guest
Hi Tom - Was wondering how one can eat 18 bunches of KALE in a month! Do you eat it every day? Do you have different ways to cook it? I have sauteed onions, garlic and fennel -- added browned tenderloin tips and kale; when kale cooks down I add beef broth. I love it but sure would be interested in other ways to prepare it. Thanks. Guest guest
What is so unusual about eating Kale every day? I don't, but I eat collard greens, and sometimes kale, at least once every day, except for the unusual time when I run out of both at the house. A typical bunch of kale that I get at the store is only enough for 1 or 2 meals for me. I choose to eat collard greens more often than kale since collard greens are a Tier 1 beneficial and kale is a Tier 2 beneficial. Collard greens are higher in calcium than kale, which we Os need. Also I think that collard greens are a little less expensive than kale. I eat greens of some sort 2 or 3 meals a day and sometimes snack on seaweed. The greens in one of those meals are usually in a salad with some mix of romaine lettuce, parlsey, dandelion greens (when I can get them), and occasionally spinach. Remember greens are important. Guest guest
I didn't realize that distinction between Kale and Collards. If I'm a Non-Secretor that changes the Tier system in some way, right? I eat Collards, but not quite as much. I like the taste of Kale a little better, but you're exactly right about calcium both that collards have more and that O's really need it. _____ From: Don [mailto:ironwood55@...] Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2004 9:40 AM Subject: Re: One Month of Food/Drink Accounted for What is so unusual about eating Kale every day? Guest guest
<<and sometimes snack on seaweed>> Don, What types of seaweed do you snack on? Do you eat it alone right out of the bag or do you prep it in some way? Thanks! Dianne in L.A. O+ nonnie
Guest guest
After I posted the message I remembered that you are a non-secretor and that I should of made the point that the tier system only applies to secretors. Since non-secretors don't have a tier ranking system kale and collard greens are equal, at least from the beneficial rating standpoint in LR4YT. Guest guest
That's right. The non-secretor diet is automatically tier 2, for all the values. I never could keep track of the tiers anyway Re: One Month of Food/Drink Accounted for After I posted the message I remembered that you are a non-secretor and that I should of made the point that the tier system only applies to secretors. Guest guest
Hi all - Thanks to all who replied re Kale. I will try different ways to prepare so I can use more often. Thanks for the recipes. The bunches I find in the market are quite large and one enough for 5 to 6 meals for me. I have not noticed the Red Russian variety. I shall be on lookout for it. --- Lorrie ~~~~~~~~ From: tomwilson64@...(Tom ) Date: Tue, May 11, 2004, 10:15am (PDT+2) Subject: RE: Re: One Month of Food/Drink Accounted for Reply to: I didn't realize that distinction between Kale and Collards.
