Guest guest
Tinnitus sounds like the high-pitched background squeal emitted by some computer monitors or television sets. Others report noises like hissing steam, rushing water, chirping crickets, bells, breaking glass, or even chainsaws. Some report that their tinnitus temporarily spikes in volume with sudden head motions during aerobic exercise, or with each footfall while jogging. Objective tinnitus sufferers may hear a rhythmic rushing noise caused by their own pulse. This form is known as pulsatile tinnitus. Some people with high blood pressure sometimes hear noises in their head or ears similar to the above noises. Here is a good site that explains the different types of tinnitus: http://www.tinnitus-audiology.com/articles/Tinn_Types.html
Guest guest
Hi , Re: Tornado You wrote> I do have tinnitis (also called " ringing in the ears " ). Mine is a high pitched squeal, quite faint except when I'm trying to hear something quiet. My Uncle also gets a ringing noise, but he recently explained that there's a sound like rushing wind or water in there too. But he didn't really know where it was coming from either. Could this be a blood vessel that's very close to a bone or perhaps something that transmits sound to the ear bones? I'm sure that they would be very sensitive to that kind of sound from the inside. Obviously I don't know because I don't have it, but my Uncle was quite traumatised about 11 years ago when he was walking the dog and slipped off a 5 bar gate, while climbing over it. The fall snapped his pelvis and he was unable to move for several hours. Luckily his son followed him, for the walk, and found him lying in a pool of water with his Spaniel sitting next to him. (Keeping him warmer.) By the time the Ambulance got to him he'd been lying in cold water for about 7 hours and was in a bad way. But anyhow, he now walks with a limp and has this ringing sound and rushing water noise inside his head.....Strange? Anyhow, I don't suppose this little story has helped you at all, but I'll try and ask him more about it, the next time he comes over. Best regards! Mal. P.S. Good luck with the " confuser " . (p.c.) Guest guest
, now that I've read all of your symptoms...it does sound like a neurological problem having to do with your spinal compression. If your spinal cord is causing the spinal cord nerve to be damaged over and over again...has any of your doctors considered a consult with an neorsurgeion or orthopeudic surgeon? I have heard that sometimes a mechanical fusion has to be done. Not saying that this is what you need....just seems like you are having more trouble than most of us will ever have with neck involvement. If the spinal cord is being damaged, I have read that it can cause sensory problems...the ones like you have mentioned. Maybe there is someone in our group that has had this problem or this type of surgery and could comment. I would do a lot of screaming for someone to help you. You shouldn't have to live this way, . Most sincerely, Connie (granny)
Guest guest
, I nominate you as our group mascot. You are an inspiration and example for us all. After we do all we can for our illnesses, we somehow, have to come to grips with it and move on....even if our pace is slower than others. Your attitude is commendable and I only wish I had a portion of your courage. God bless you. I will keep you in my prayers. I see you haven't lost hope and we will all pray that you get the best care available. Best regards, Connie (granny)
