thanks for the input on salt! of course I have 2 lbs of non mentioned sea

salts in the cupboard.... Pacific Salt Sel de Mer (solar dried/from New

Zealand) and La Baleine (from France/Mediterranean Salt) ! Neither are

iodized but my naturopath suggests that all sea salt has at least a small amt

of iodine in it.

And with the English Channel being one of the busiest waterways in the world, there must be some pretty dirty seawater washing into those French 'celtic' seasalt drying beds.At least with the New Zealand salt, there's only whale pooh and pollution from a very very small number of ships passing by the lakebeds where the salt is dried. But they do wash out much of the clay, so it's whiter than the celtic.RitzOn Jun 8, 2009, at 10:57 PM,

At least 1/2 tsp per day, plus liberal use on food. Some people with

adrenal exhaustion are taking up to a Tablespoon a day.

Then there is the additional, separate use of unrefined salt that is called

" salt loading " , which is done when a person has detoxification symptoms

from the iodine, which can be almost anything but often is a headache or

skin eruptions. One takes 1/2 teaspoon unrefined salt in a small glass of

water, followed by 12 to 16 ounces of water. Copious urination should

follow within 40 minutes, and if it doesn't, the salt loading should be

done again. The salt binds with the toxins that are making you feel bad,

and carries them out of the body in the urine.

with best wishes,

I also do sole therapy. I love it. It has such a higher vibration than just

putting 1/4 teaspoon of celtic sea salt in water and drinking it. I like to keep

one of the salt rocks in the sole water, and add more water and rocks as needed.

It's very cool! I do find it harder to know how much salt I'm actually getting.

But the web sites suggest 1 tsp a day in water first thing in the morning, so I

go by that. It tastes great!

When you dowse, are you using those rods I've seen? Or more like a pendulum?

My favorite site for how to make it is here:

I was hoping that you would say that it really didn't need to be that warm at

all...I'm in Florida, and I'm cheap with the AC due to unemployment...So, it's

awful just sitting there in warm water for 30 minutes :(

Thanks,

If you want excretion of toxins from the body, you need maximum heat; sauna or a sweat lodge (done correctly) we did one once and the heat level was so high, there was no visible "steam" from the rocks; VERY HOT!!! You will sweat the toxins!!!jerry

I'd be curious what others have read. I remember reading ( & I have no idea if this is true) that a very hot bath promotes absorption of the minerals in the water, & a warm bath promotes excretion of toxins from the body. But most people seem to think they are doing both at the same time. And I don't know of anyway to verify either premise.AnneOn May 28, 2010, at 10:09 PM, lookonthebriteside wrote: The feed store is a good idea, although I wonder if their salt is in fact unrefined... Wow..that's amazing. I would have thought your detox was long behind you. Haven't you been taking 100 mg. Iodoral for a while now?

The dollar store carried the salts with lavender. So while your body is soaking up mag. you also get a little bit of aromatherapy. from IllinoisFrom: "oldglory@..." <oldglory@...>iodine Sent: Sat, May 29, 2010 12:10:07 AMSubject: sea salts

Hi Sherry,

I do believe if it wasn't for epsom salt, I could barely function. It eases

sore muscles, bruises, helps me relax and sleep. The magnesium in the epsom

salt is supposed to be good for you and the hot water is a bonus.

MY symptoms? I feel pretty bad, weak, no stamina, TIRED, headaches. I

tried increasing iodine but didn't feel better. Adding DMG complete

seemed to change something. I was shaky and nervous, couldn't sleep

until I added iron--conventional doc suggested ativan! OMG.

Hi Gracia,

Have you bought anything lately? A new car, new furniture? A new house? New

computer or stereo equipment? Bromide, chlorine, and fluoride hide virtually

everywhere including furniture upholstery, interiors of new cars, etc. So, it

does not really surprise me that it took a long time to detox since exposure to

halogens is so prevalent in just about everything we eat, drink, wear, or use.

Are you salt loading etc? Did you try going off the iodine for few days to make sure it really is detox? It could be something else...At any rate, hope you feel better and figure this thing out.

I went to a ladies night at our local spa, in which they had alot of their

vendors selling their products. One vendor that had the mineral and mud bath

packets explained to a group of us that if the water is hotter than 99 degrees

(body temp) then we sweat and we do not absorb the minerals. If we want to detox

and expel impurities then hot is very good. This made total sense to me.

the salt loading definitely works! don't forget to do it and also pulse dose

your iodoral since you're taking the high doses. Like my doc has me doing 50mg/4

days per week and 150mg/3 days per week. They both help!

I have been watching BP every day and i want to keep below 130/80. I am just

around there now so I don't want to increase salts. Currently at 1/2 teaspoon

plus what ever is in food. I don't generally add it.

My iodine is a physiological dose of 225mcg/day. My ND does not want me to

increase it untill I get my antibodies checked in a few weeks.

I'm not sure if that amount of iodine is enough to trigger detox, but everyone is different, so maybe.  It could just be you fighting off an infection.  I take 1 teaspoon of unrefined sea salt a day and haven't raised my blood pressure at all.
