chest pain- help!

hello, helen here (again!)

firstly, thanks to everyone who has replied to my e-mails, it has

been such a relief to find this group. Thanks for the advice about

doctors; since my first e-mail i have been to see a urologist (for

the horrible urethritis symptoms) and he has been really great, as

has my gp, and between them they have prescribed me dioxcycline for

the cystitis and vioxx for the inflammation. They have both told me

to change my rheumatiologist, agreeing that a psychologist is really

not going to help the symptoms!

the main reason why i am writing though, is the terrible chest pain i

have been having for the past few days. It is a burning, tight pain

in the middle of my chest, which has been getting gradually worse,

and now is at the point where i can hardly sit up to write this e-

mail. I'm sure this is related to the reiter's, because i have found

descriptions of chest pain in the archives of this group, but does

anyone know any effective ways of relieving the pain, or how long it

usually lasts? it really is getting unbearable, and the gp didn't

really know what to do with me. i am going to have to do something,

but am scared that if i go to a hospital, judging from the lack of

undertanding of this condition, i will just be told that i'm stressed

and sent away with paracetomol... I am so frightened.

warm regards to everybody,

helen xx
