Janet, this was a great in-depth overall study on the merits and safety of

TNF-a drugs for ankylosing spondylitis, RA, and Psoriasis. My husband just

received credit for the information. :-) Thank you for sharing. I hope all can

access it without trouble. I've not seen where it is used for ReA. Does anyone

know anything about this? Is it given " off label " for Reiter's? Best regards,

Connie (granny)

Connie,

It's given " off-label " for Reiter's. Most medications are because the drug

companies don't usually do clinical trials for Reiter's. It's a big

breakthrough that now they're doing clinical trials for ankylosing

spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis, and not just rheumatoid arthritis. I

was able to get the insurance pre-authorization for Enbrel partly by arguing

that it was approved for psoriatic arthritis, a spondyloarthropathy, and

that I have spondylorarthropathy and that UCSF Medical Center where I'm

treated has treated lots of patients with Reactive Arthritis with Enbrel.

It was before it was FDA-approved for anklyosing spondylitis.

Seems the drug was removed along with the non text portions of the msg. at

the end. I'd like to know what the name of it is, please. I have forgotten

though I know I read it earlier.

, we were talking about the TNF-a drugs (Enbrel, Remicade, Humira) that

are now given for the spondyloarthropaties....after other drugs have been

tried and are found to be ineffective.
