Guest guest
**For dieting: 0.8-1 g/lb LBM.** What is LBM? If it is " lean body mass " , then what does " 0.8-1 g/lb LBM " mean? This post flew right over my head!! Thanks, Coryn
Guest guest
In this instance the complete mass of your body at the earth's gravitation is divided into wither Lean body mass (anything that is not fat) and fat. So the Lean Body Mass is is all the non-fat substance in your body. So if you weigh 125 lbs and you are 20% body fat (25 lbs) then you are 80% Lean Body Mass (100 lbs). In this case you multiply the Lean Body Mass by .8 to 1 gram and this person would want to eat 80 - 100 grams of protein per day according to this estimate. Does that help? _____ From: SnipSnip [mailto:SnipSnip@...] Sent: Thursday, January 01, 2004 1:08 PM Subject: Re: Excerpt from misc.fitness.weights **For dieting: 0.8-1 g/lb LBM.** What is LBM?
