Guest guest
Do you know if the Enbrel stops the deterioration of the joints?
Guest guest
Pat, The clinical trials of Enbrel show that it prevents joint damage. Not very many medicines have been shown to actually prevent progression of joint damage. It is one of the big benefits of Enbrel. It changes the course of the disease and the earlier you get it the better. You should have a TB test before starting it because it can activate latent TB. I think they pretty much always do a TB skin test now before starting anyone on it. I have not had any increase in infections since starting Enbrel. Guest guest
I have been on Enbrel for almost 2 months now and I consider it a miracle drug! I still have some achiness/joint pain but it is nothing compared to what I experiencing just a few months ago. I also feel less fatigued than I usually do. Guest guest
Liz- I am sorry to hear your doctor won't consider it. My first rheumy didn't want to do anything but give me NSAIDs and prednisone. It took me a couple of years to realize I needed to find another doctor. I will pray that you feel better this holiday season! Annette
