The only underarm thing I've reacted to was that crystal rock thingy.

After a few weeks/months?, I got a bad rash there and on my chin, of

all places. That was years ago. I've been fine since.

Maybe it was the castor oil?

I haven't worn deodorant in years as I am allergic to all deodorants

and break out in hives. It could be that this is just a very

sensitive area. I don't know what, in particular, I'm allergic to, so

I just avoid putting anything at all in that region and opt for

keeping myself conspicuously clean.

I avoid deodorants, especially sprays as much as I can. I can even

get a burning feeling after spraying several times. If I still use

something, it's a stick - I check the ingredients, though.

I still feel that avoids count in topical treatment.

I agree with Rose/Hun,

for a deodorizer, I use LE CRYSTAL NATUREL made in France.

distributed in the usa.

contains: Natural Mineral Salts, Potassium Alums

and it's easy to use: moisten stone and gently rub underarms.

I esp. agree when I was diagnosed with " atopic dermatitis "

with use of 's Baby Oil.

I now use (of all things) olive oil after a shower for moisterizer.

hope this helps,

Gaye

I wish I could do the same. I haven't used anti-perspirant in 20+

years, and use very mild " natural " deodorants. I am basically hot all

the time, except in winter when I'm comfortable (central TX winters

are pretty mild). I sweat just walking to and fro, so not wearing

deodorant is not an option. <sigh> At least on work days. =-)

I've noticed stronger body odors since I started eating red meat

again (not that they're bad, just stronger). Any other former veggies

notice that? Is it just my imagination? I heard for years how meat

putrifies, makes you smellier, etc. You know " vegetarian $ & !^ don't

stink " ... whatever... I'm not as eloquent as Axel, alas.

Lynn here: I have used Avalon Organic shampoo and conditioner. NEVER AGAIN!

I LOVE organic products and try to use them as much as possible including

personal care products. I have used Aubrey Organics for many years and have

usually liked their products. So when I saw the Avalon Organic products I

thought I would give them a try too.

The shampoo REALLY dried my hair out and the conditioner was way too

oily/greasy. Even my hairdresser noticed after just 3 weeks use. Sooo...

I'm not sure what this company is into or uses, but I won't try anything of

theirs again. 's experience just confirms my resolve. (And I do not

have any reason financially tied to either company.) I got some Suave

shampoo & cond. to save some $ during the holidays (of all things!) and that

is MUCH better than the Avalon organic junk.

I've also noticed that I'm more sensitive to " regular " groc. store type body

soaps lately. I order ones hand made from Kathy (used to be on this

list?) that don't contain any coconut oil in them and they seem more gentle

to me. There is also a nice body soap by Kiss My Face that has only olive

oil in it for the oil. I get the plain so there isn't any artificial

fragrance in them -- read the labels, some do.

Cheers!

I'm not so sure that avoids in cosmetics are o.k....

Dr. D'Adamo's post aside, I know that I used Avalon Organic

Botanicals Therapeutic Deodorant for a few days, and it made my

underarm skin raw. I checked the ingredients with the food lists,

and I always thought it had to be the aloe vera and castor oil (both

Type O Avoids). Thoughts? Similar experiences?
