Hi everyone, I'm interested in some feedback..... Yesterday a friend of mine was watching a documentary about the blood type diet. The documentary basically said that the diet is a scam and what Dr. D'Adamo has been researching with respect to the blood types is a load of rubbish......

The documentary went on to explain that this blood type diet has apparently been researched for around 40 years but that there is no documented evidence that this has occurred because if it had been researched as extensively as what they claim then it would be documented in medical books and published....

I have been following this diet for a few months now and I am a little confused now and somewhat disappointed that if what they were saying on the documentary is true then I have wasted time and money into this ER diet...

I would appreciate any comments as I am new to this diet and by no means qualified in any medical / naturopathic fields. In the meantime I am trying to get a copy of the documentary on tape.

Thanks for the feedback so far and the reassurance..... I have not been on this diet very long and I do not follow it extremely strictly....... so what I mean is that I don't eat the avoids but I do eat some neautrals. I still cannot decide if it is working for me yet as I have never been a junk food eater.... I have only ever eaten lots of fruits and vegetables, no fried foods whatsoever... I am extremely fastidious with my food. I do not have a weight problem but I have an enormous appetite and that's why I watch what I eat.

MONICA

Not so long ago we did a thread on one of the O mailing lists (if you want to subscribe to the other it is ER4YTtypeO-subscribe , send an email with the word subscribe in the subject line and body of your message) about raging hunger in O's. The best thing to do is just feed it...this is very normal and apparently very commonplace for us O's following the diet AS LONG AS YOU AREN'T EATING ANY AVOIDS. It has to do with your metabolism kicking into high gear because you are eating easily metabolized foods.

Anyway go to the archives and look for a thread with subject lines SCIENCE FAIR AND RAGING HUNGER from one of the O lists...

As for the skin blotches, if you are still eating wheat it may be causing them...if you are avoiding the avoids, it may be a symptom of cleansing (your body taking out the garbage, so to speak, also called detoxification) and will clear up in a few days to a few weeks. If it is cleansing, that is a GOOD SIGN. Hang in there, and welcome.

I am extremely fastidious with my food. I do not have a weight problem but I have an enormous appetite and that's why I watch what I eat.

Where I can see problems with me was with Wheat and breakfast cereals... I have cut bread and cereals from my diet (this was very hard for me to do)... but the only difference that I can see is I no longer have extreme bloating and my yeast infections have almost disappeared. The problem I am still having is the skin rashes... they are not really bad but I tend to get blotches sometimes on my face..... Does wheat cause this?

Even though I was a little disappointed when I heard about the documentary I strongly believe in this diet because it makes so much sense.

Thanks for all your input - you are all living proof that this diet does work when people try to talk negatively about it.

Who put out this documentary??? The American Medical Association??? I can personally say that if it weren't for this diet that I would probably be in a world of trouble in about 10 years. I have lost 55 pounds without even trying, my blood pressure is normal now, my cholesterol has dropped below 200 (172) even with all the meat consumption I do, my joints don't ache anymore, my carpal tunnel has quit hurting (it only hurts when I do any dairy), my skin rashes have calmed down considerably (since I quit eating wheat), my sinuses don't ache anymore, I have more energy. . . I don't know what else I can say about this wonderful diet that " DOESN'T WORK???? " You just hang in there , and see if it works for you. Are your bad symptoms going away? Did you have any adverse symptoms when you started the diet? When you do find the tape of the negative documentary, please let us all know the title and who did the research. Best wishes to you. . .

Aloha

Ditto, and triple Ditto - !! Who cares what the media say?? The

Could you tell me a little about your business in

Tucson. I live nearby and I am interested in the fact

you help people by using this diet. I am a very big

fan of Dr. D'Adamo and extremely skeptical of main

stream medicine to say the least. I am 53 so have had

experiences that have taught me to stay away from them

unless an emergency beyond my control arises. Also

was wondering if there are any good dentist in the

area since I am having trouble with some of my teeth.

Thanks for any information you can give me.
