Last night I went to my karate class and had more

energy than I've had in years. I think I know why...

I've been grain free for seven days.

Faced with Thanksgiving at a small mountain condo with

parents, sister, brother and many neices and nephews I

generally just eat all the pastries, pies and rolls my

mother brings along out of pure boredom. This always

kicks off a cycle of lethargy, self-loathing and

crabbiness. This year I decided to cook some beef stew

and prepare some tuna/nori burritos.

I made it my goal to stay grain free through the break

and was sucessful. I feel fantastic and was surprised

to find that upon returning to karate after the week

hiatus I was feeling more pumped than ever.

My personal challenge is to see how many days I can go

with out consuming a grain (Nutribiotics Rice Protein

doesn't count). Anyone else want to try it?

That's a big " well done " to you! Sounds like a good challenge, too.

Smiles,

Here is who started walking 1 mile several times a week. We are in the

middle of a winter storm (not bad here in Oklahoma, but wet, so I'm working

out to tapes until the weather is better.

;-)

OK OK I will do it today. I have not been feeling good - very tired - and

therefore it is hard to get going again on the exercise even tho I know it will

make me feel better. Thanks for the boost. Ann

Hi Oss,

Here is Joan in Chicago. I have worked my speed up to 4 miles per hour. I

am trying to walk 2 miles 4 times a week, and 4 miles on the weekend. It is

dark really early now, so walking after work is less attractive. This week

I am walking on my lunch hour. So far, so good. The bad weather plan is to

get a stand for my bicycle so I can ride indoors.

Keep active!
