Guest guest
BEFORE YOU READ FURTHER, THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE I HAVE EVER SENT TO ANY OF THE LISTS EVER. PLEASE SEND ALL RESPONSES TO Heidi Merritt, SouthLodge@..., no later than Tuesday, 5/28/01. Heidi, you have my express permission to reprint this on the main BB at dadamo.com in its entirety, including my name and email addy. I would do it myself but don't get over there often with other responsibilities. This is too important to miss. I am moderator of ER4YTtypeA (formerly A2), ER4YTtypeO, Live-Right, CookRight, and ER4YT-B lists. In our discussions on the Live-Right lists, the following has come to light: 1) That the home blood testing kits are inaccurate in most cases 2) That saliva test kit secretor test results are not agreeing with blood test results from the sdale lab for the complete serotype panels 3) That kits which are ordered from NAP are arriving with parts missing or supplements missing 4) That results of secretor tests, in addition to being inaccurate and not agreeing with those of the sdale lab, are delayed for months or even lost altogether, forcing others to send away for other tests. 5) That the ABO Rh which comes back on the test cards often does not agree with the ABO Rh run in a lab setting (Red Cross, Hospital, or sdale Lab, for instance). 6) That, generally speaking, the customer service from North American Pharmacal (NAP) is, to put it too kindly, somewhat less than stellar. Send all responses, no later than Tues 5/28/01, to Heidi Merritt, at SouthLodge@... and she will forward the info to Dr. D. ORIGINAL MESSAGE WITH DIRECTIONS FOLLOWS: Dear folks! I am really upset that you have gone through these frustrating and expensive difficulties. What I will do is speak to about this early next week. The date is up to him, but I will seek a commitment from him and/or Martha to investigate and report upon the Great Smokies test reliability in relation to the problems people are experiencing. I'll also ask them to respond on NAP's customer service and packaging performance. Tabitha: To these ends, please to post a request that anyone who has had a conflicting GS/SWMC blood type or secretor status result, or any persistent difficulty with NAP, to _email me_ with as many or few details as they care to give. And please *ask your fellow ER/LR listowners to do the same.* No names are necessary, and I won't be naming people to him, I just want to hear how widespread the problems are and where they lie, so I can approach with as much info as I can get. If there are any participants who do not want to contact me directly, just anonymize & harvest their comments and dump them to my address. Please just ask that everyone respond to this email address no later than this coming Tuesday, May 28. I appreciate your concerns, I'll do everything I can to clear this up. best regards, ^heidi^ >===== Original Message From TabMTBC@... ===== >Heidi, >Since you have Dr. D's ear and I don't, I have an urgent message to be >relayed to him. > >I am one of the moderators of the new Live-Right-4-Your-Type list on >groups. > >As you might expect, a large number of our discussions center around secretor >typing, blood typing, the saliva tests, etc. etc. > >Well I suppose you know about the lab in sdale affiliated with the >naturopathic school where Dr. D has given permission for people to have their >complete blood panel done (all the serotypes and subtypes) and personal food >lists made. > >Well a lot of people who used the home blood typing cards are, of course, now >being typed again through the lab. Guest guest
> In our discussions on the Live-Right lists, the following has come > to light: > 1) That the home blood testing kits are inaccurate in most cases Please could you explain further as the only discrepancies I have read about are related to the the Rh factor and not to the blood type itself. If this is the case then the home blood test kits are not completely inaccurate. For the ER4YT diet the Rh factor was not a contributer to food lists in the same way as it is in the LR4YT diet. Perhaps you would be so kind as to clear up any confusion your statement might make. > 2) That saliva test kit secretor test results are not agreeing with > blood test results from the sdale lab for the complete > serotype panels This on the other hand for people wanting to follow the LR4YT diet is more serious and needs to be sorted out. How many cases are there with this discrepancy? As far as I have read only one case has come to light and while that is really one to many lets not be hasty in making the assumption that all tests are incorrect. > 3) That kits which are ordered from NAP are arriving with parts > missing or supplements missing Again how many instances are we talking about? I have only seen one mentioned and admittedly this is also one too many, humans do make mistakes and errors do occur. > 5) That the ABO Rh which comes back on the test cards often does > not agree with the ABO Rh run in a lab setting (Red Cross, > Hospital, or sdale Lab, for instance). See reply to item 1) > 6) That, generally speaking, the customer service from North > American Pharmacal (NAP) is, to put it too kindly, somewhat less > than stellar. ??? In whose opinion ??? I have never had a problem with NAP and their service has always been efficient, accurate and dealt with in a kindly way. Admittedly this might not be the same for everyone but I have seen few if any posts about NAP's poor service on any of the lists I subscribe to. > Tabitha: To these ends, please to post a request that anyone > who has had a conflicting GS/SWMC blood type or secretor status > result, or any persistent difficulty with NAP, to _email me_ with > as many or few details as they care to give. And please *ask your > fellow ER/LR listowners to do the same.* Ahhh.... so what your post is or should have been is a request for information from people who have had problems with their blood/saliva test results or with NAP's service to email Heidi Merritt at SouthLodge@...
