Guest guest
I've been having trouble with my gallbladder for 4 months now, atleast that's when all my symptoms started and I begain reading about several of your experiences. I must say, its been enlightening. It took several months for doctors to narrow my problem down to the gallbladder, and during that time I experienced stomach problems, intestinal problems, pain under my ribs, and the most awful bloating daily. The symptoms were so general it was hard to pin point. It could have been a list of 5 problems. My altrasound showed everything was fine. Then I had a hidascan or was it a hydascan. It showed I have a tube to the gallbladder that is collapsed. They are removing it on Friday. I'm to the point where when I had a massage from my MT I would bloat, certain foods will make me bloat. It's been horrible. I tried the flush with no real relief, but now I know why. Their not seeing stones as the problem. I even bloat during the doctors examines. My stomach was raw and at one point I was bloating daily, but I'm doing better. Mostly stress now, dairy products, greasy foods, examinations and anyone rubbing my back. At one point I was sure I had an ulcer, but pepcidAC didn't seem to work. My doctor put me one a product to take away all stomach acid, and that didn't work either. But vinegar and apple juice did give some relief. Vinegar is good for lots of stuff. The good news is that I learned about the liquid lecithin for my stomach, and that REALLY helped me stay able to eat. I also learned about how eating the Metamucil Fiber Wafers (apple crisp) in the mornings 3 tablespoons of mineral oil with honey before I went to bed really took care of my intestinal problems. The apple juice and vinegar were good, but the mineral oil and honey rates #1! Now I'm wondering about recovery after laposcopy surgery and diet. I've heard low fat, low residue foods, but what's low residue mean? Has anyone heard anything about weight gain after surgery? Guest guest
Nan I think most people gain weight from the fact that they go back to their old eating habits before GB problems existed. Now they don't have a GB to warn them they are eating junk so they pig out! There are people here with better knowledge to answer your questions than myself. But would you mind helping me with some questions I have? Your symptoms sound somewhat like mine except I don't have any pain in the GB area. They found stones and they want to take my GB out. I have resisted because I think that the stones were coincidental findings during catscan & ultrasound. My cramping and bloating occur 2-4 hrs after eating just about anything. Acid reducers and acid blockers haven't helped me either in fact they seemed to make the problem worst. I would like to try some of your remedies. When and how do you take vinegar and apple juice(before or after meals)? How often, how much and when do you take the lethicin oil? (straight oils give me heartburn) Is the mineral oil and honey for moving your bowels? Do all you eat in the mornings is the metamucil wafers? Or do you follow them with food later? These are remedies I have never heard of, but they sound logical . You might have something here. You might want to share this also with the IBS forum.
