About Candle Day. I am asking that everyone please pray for what iam bout to

tell you all. Last Thursday my son went to New Orleans for a all day

field trip. Now that is in another state and it had been planned for many

months. the adult that was asigned to him had only and her own son. It

seems that after Jake got off the bus she never got him and he had a Petite

Mal Seziure and when he came around the kids were moving into the Aquiarium.

by the way it was the whole 3rd grade. Anyway he couldn't find the adult or

even remember her name. he was able to see a kid that he knew and followed

him and his asigned adult. the woman who was to look after jake never told

the teacher she didn't have him. the teacher found out on her own and then it

took a couple of hours to find him and 4 adults. the woman told the teacher

that jake just walked away. They never called Security in to find him and

when they did, they spent the rest of the day telling him how bad he was and

how trouble he was gonna get into when he got home and also that he wouldn't

be able to go on anymore field trips. I set the teacher right when i picked

him up that night but i have a call into the lawyer because they were neglent

and endangered my son. The night mares i have had have been so bad. I know

you can all imagine. He is still having the seizures but they aren't to bad.

mostly when he is asleep. He has been complaining of headaches and upset

tummy. He also threw up tonight.

Ok this is the big one. I have a friend that is in a real bad relationship.

She has 4 kids the oldest one was living with her and her abusive boyfriend

and their baby. Her other 2 kids live with her ex husband. My neighbor is

also her friend and Sunday she called both our houses telling , my

boyfriend that her boyfriend did something to her car and said he had hit

her. Well she has no phone and wasn't at the number that she called from when

we tried to call and check on her so we went to her house and she decided she

was gonna leave and we packing the babys' and the 14 yr olds stuff and her

boyfriend came back and went nuts. To make a long story alot shorter he tried

to hit 3 of us with his fathers truck and was hanging his 9 month old girl in

the air by her ankle. yes we called the cops but in this state the cops come

and take the info but we have to make a appt to sign the papers for the

warrents to be written up. Her oldest girl came to stay with my neighbor last

night and then came here. She said she would kill herself if her mother made

her go back again for the 40th time. The dumb woman took the man back and

and i told the 14 yr old she could stay with us so we called her dad

who as legal and full custody of the 14 yr is thinking about it cause he is

trying to save the marriage he has now because the 14yr old girls mother

caused trouble there. anyway we also call the church and they can't put the

girl up and the rest of the family don't or can't take the girl in. Anyway

the mother is now trying to get us not to press charges on him. She went

tright back to him and i told her i wasn't gonna help her any more but i will

help her daughter. She brought it on her self by taking him back. He almost

killed us with that truck last night and he was also swinging a bat at us.

Anyway i am asking you all to pray for us. the 14 yr old really could use it.

she wants to stay here so bad and if her dad lets her then all will good and

we will get her into therapy. I also am asking for you to pray for jake. he

got really upset and i don't think he is over it yet.

thanks for listening everyone.

: How frightening for you. Thank God you all are safe. There is so

much evil in this world anymore. Last week a man shot and killed his wife and

8 and 2 yr old daughter near hear. Wed night at Awana's (meeting for girls

3-5th grade) three of my girls new the 8 yrs old and were so traumatized.

Children really need our prayers and comfort and you will certainly have

mine. I pray you have no more bad experiences. Did you report this idiot???

I'm in a fibro fog today so can't remember already.

,

From the posts that I see, the Candle Day is long overdue. I have my candles

lit right now. It is surprising how just one little candle makes us all seem

so much closer together & not quite so alone in this scary world. I have

also lit bigger candles for and for your friends. Candle Day always

puts ones own little problems in perspective.

Love, warmth and peace to my family......

Debs

ps: I have a special candle lit just for , I wonder how things are

going.......

Good idea, Debs. After reading what just wrote, I propose that we all

light candles today and each day through Friday. People can just join in

when they see this and if they are willing and able to participate. Me Mom

could use the extra boost for today, a R has a first rheumy

appointment later this afternoon, Kathy has been through a zillion

procedures and appointments in the last few days and still has more to go,

Esther continues to have many difficult challenges, you have your knee

surgery Friday, Pat is still recovering, and there are many more people to

pray for here.

Please forgive me for not mentioning everyone specifically here. Feel free

to write in and add reminders and requests, everyone.

I still have one last child to send on his way to school, but I will be on

later. I'm going to go light a candle right now.

Taking kids out of state for field trips normally makes the adults MORE

protective of the children. I am surprised something like this happened and

it's awful that Jake was blamed. Shame on that mother. I hope she never

chaperones another child. I hope he isn't stopped from further field trips

because of this. I'm glad he is feeling better.

I admire you for taking in this young girl. Most people wouldn't want to get

involved, especially when there is a lunatic parent to contend with. I hope her

father allows her to stay. I will keep both children in my prayers. My candle

is lit for many of us today.

Friends, I have two special request for prayers.

Yesterday afternoon, I received word that a 16-year-old girl I know tried to

kill herself with an overdose of aspirin. Several years ago, her mother died

of a very rare form of cancer. Her mother's funeral was perhaps the bleakest

I have ever attended; I'll never forget the annoying drizzle, the

uncomfortable chill in the air, the dark image of so many heartbroken faces

against the backdrop of a gnarled oak tree standing alone in an otherwise

barren field. Life has been hard for this youth since her mother's illness

and subsequent death. The girl's younger brother found her unconscious and

called 911, so please pray for him, the girl, and the father of both

children.

In addition, I would like to remember all of those in our group who don't

post at all or aren't able to write often. Whatever the reasons for their

silence, I hope that they aren't suffering alone.

Thank you all very much.

Oops,

, your hands & heart are more than full. I am the mother of a daughter

with cp & I dread when they go on field trips. I hold my breath until she

gets home from school. I don't want her to miss out, but sometimes her gross

motor skills make her stand out in a group & they don't wait for her or she

get separated from the group. It is a nightmare. I can't imagine what you

went thru with your son.

My candles have been burning all day,I wasn't able to go to work today with

my hands & my knee acting up. I really hate this disease......So many of our

family members need all the help we can give them through thoughts & prayers.

Gentle, angel, mother to mother hugs,

Debs in FL

As a teacher I can tell you, the teacher is always responsible for all of the

children regardless of the extra help she has recruited for a field trip. It

is the job of the teacher to instruct the chaperones and to make sure that

they do as they are asked.

A child cannot wonder away unless he is not being supervised. I hope you do

call your lawyer and notify the school and school board. This is shocking!

Hi ,I hope your friend Dave gets some positive results. I would

find it difficult to be meanspirited too but you are right to keep the

list away from him if it would inhibit you from sharing things with us.

Dear ,

My prayers are extended to the father and his son and daughter you spoke of

in your post. my mother's mother died when she was young and I can only

imagine what she and your young friend, and everyone else it has ever

happened to, have gone through.

I haven't posted much lately -- fighting a bug that has gone into my lungs.

I hope you are well.

Sincerely,

Patsy

Debs,

Jake is still feeling stressed out and his tummy has been acting up. The

whole thing really messed him up. he won't even go outside to play unless

is with him. He feels safe with his family. His best friend came over

and asked him to go outside and the only way he would go is if jesse went

too. He hasn't been to school all this week due to upset tummy and actually

threwing up. All my older boys felt the need to protect ashley but her dad

let her go back to her mom last night. it was very emotional and nobody could

sleep last night cause we are all scared for ashley. If her mom wants to live

that way fine, thats her choice but to make a 14 yr old girl go through that

crap is wrong. There so much more going on in that house then what i have

told you and the rest of the group but considering the moms boyfriend isn't

taking his prozac at the moment or he does but drinks and smokes pot which

you all know is a big bad no no. Oh yeah i forgot about the boyfriend taking

like 80 to100 mg of Loratab on top of it all and come to find out the mom is

popping the loratab too. i wondered why she could hold eye contact with

anyone yesterday or shake with anger or fear. she looked so numb. I just

found out about so much that iam scared for those kids. They have been turned

into the state for child neglect and endangerment. No it wasn't me. many

people from their neighborhood did.

I have to share this with you all. As the mom was leaving last night my

oldest son looked at her and (mind you he is so upset and really

scared for ashley) said " bye b--ch " . has always been one to speak his

mind and yes he will cuss if it will get his point across. he knows its wrong

but he just can't hold his tounge with people like her. i told him he

shouldn't lower himself but its matter that she really needed to see what

people thought about her. called her an unfit mother that should not

have children if she puts her boyfriend ahead of what her kids need.

Any way enough of that. We gave a prepaid cell phone so if there was

anything wrong she could call the police or any of us. I told the mom that

she couldn't call me for a damn thing cause she won't help herself then she

has no more friends she has lied to us, used us, etc but if called and

needed something we would help. i also know she will make ashley call and ask

for money so anything ashley needs when she calls will be bought no cash will

be given to ashley cause her mom takes her money all the time so the

boyfriend can have his pot or crown royal.f

ok iam done venting i think. please pray for ashley she really needs our

prayers.

thanks

Pat thank you so much. You sharing this with me will make it easier for me to

stand up and say these people are wrong as with the teachers in the group

telling where the responisbility lies. It gives me strength and more nails to

hammer into their heads about all this.

iam glad that you and the girl are such good friends now. I like stories with

happy endings.

thanks again,

I feel terrible for Jake and understand how he is feeling. I had petit mal

seizures when I was a child and had experiences so similar to what he went

through. Reading about the way he was scolded brought tears to my eyes

because I have been in his shoes. I know exactly how he felt. The word is

full of people who do not and have no interest in understanding epilepsy.

He is dealing with people that don't understand as well as the fear of

being endangered by the seizures that can strike at any time.

In many cases, a child will outgrow petit mal seizures. We can all pray

that happens for Jake. If he needs the security of his brothers for awhile

- that is ok. You are a good Mom, and you will be able to guide him back to

living a normal life.

You tell Jake that I know how he is feeling but we are tough people if we

live productive lives in spite of seizures that snatch away minutes of our

lives periodically. There are very few things he can't do with his

life and I have the confidence that he will muster up the courage to face

the next challenge that comes along. The teacher scolding him was

inappropriate but we have all been through it - we can only hoe that

someday she will understand.

Just one short story about this. When I was a Freshman in high school, one

of the girls in my class had a party and invited most of my friends but did

not invite me. When someone asked why, she said 'I don't want and epileptic

at my party.' You can imagine how hurt I was. Three years later, I was

working at the hospital and this same girl was admitted to the hospital -

to rule out epilepsy. You can imagine how embarrassed she was when I walked

into her room. I am human, I was glad that she remembered what she had said

and I was glad that she was uncomfortable. Today that girl and I are good

friends and all the hurt from then is gone. Today, I remember that when I

am feeling down and discouraged because I am thankful that I had the

opportunity to forgive her and help her in a way that only another

epileptic could help. A painful experience became a good experience in the

end. I pray that will be the case for Jake this time.

So everyone knows. is gone to stay with family in Frisco City. she

called me twice yesterday. the whole plan was to get her out. She is out and

is happy about it.

A woman just called me from DHR which is the state asking me questions about

their 9 month old baby being put in danger. I had to tell the truth and they

are gonna go get that baby out of there.

I feel bad about that but next time that baby is gonna get hurt.

thanks for all the prayers. I truely think they have helped.
