While the world is seeing signs of progress in reversing the AIDS epidemic, Ban said more must be done to reach the U.N. goal of providing universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support by 2010. He said in a statement Tuesday that this can only be done by countering the stigma and discrimination against HIV and AIDS sufferers.
