Virology Egroup abandoned

Virology appears to be a group which has been abandoned by its Owner

and no moderators were ever appointed. Lots of spam posts. Not a good

group to frequent. I recommend that you tell people there to leave

that group and join this one.

If no one posts there for long enough, will delete it. Then it

can be re-started as a properly patrolled group.

It is getting spam, but I seem to have revived it a bit with my

question.

I think that group was formed to discuss more than just influenza,

however, so asking them to quit that group and come to this one might

not be appropriate.

The group was founded by virology students--which you can see if you go

back to the first few posts--but has been abandoned by its owner whose

email is bouncing. There never were any moderators. Everyone must

leave that group so that can delete it so that a new group can be

founded. If it continues, it will just be a spam magnet.

I will not tolerate spam here. I am nice and merely delete posts for a

while, then I start banning spammers from the group.
