Guest guest
are you sure that it's not herpes, aka cold sores.
Guest guest
Hi Barb! =) No, it isn't like that. But thank you! I need all the help I can get. She comes from a family of 8 and they have no medical insurance and she can't just hop to the doctor. So, I am trying what I can to figure out what this is for her. I can tell she is worried. She's 15, btw. She has had these for about 6 months. They haven't gone away. They are hard little white bumps and look like it could be calcium deposits. If it was some allergic reaction, it seems to me that it would be on her lower lip as well. But it's not and they don't itch, they aren't red or swollen or anything like that. If you have any other ideas, I would appreciate hearing about them. =) Thank You! ~Rainy Sue > Rainy, > I sometimes get little white bumps on my lips when I eat things that I am > mildly allergic to: some fruits and berries. they usually go away with > benadryl. maybe she has the same > Barb
Guest guest
Hi There, Yes, I'm sure they aren't. If she hadn't of shown me they were there, I wouldn't have seen them. And like I've said, they don't itch, they aren't red, or swollen. They aren't infected, they don't look like blisters. They are tiny white bumps about the size of the end of a needle tip. And if it was cold sores, they would go away. She has had this non-stop for at least 6 months. I looked on the Internet and it seems to confirm what *I* think they are, calcium deposits. ~Rainy Sue > are you sure that it's not herpes, aka cold sores. Guest guest
Rainy - when I was in college I got what you are describing on the sides of my legs by my vagina - I freaked - thinking I had genital warts or something - thought my boyfriend was cheating on me etc - I can't remember the name and I don't think they gave me anything to take - the doctor just scraped off the top and picked out the little white, hard head and they healed up and that was it. maybe have her try it with one of them. Sorry I can't remember the name - I'll keep racking my brain. Could possibly try calling Planned Parenthood and describing to the nurse or NP and see if they know the name and if they could be on a person's mouth. Guest guest
Actually, my friend did try that and she said it made it worse. They are about the size of a pin point. ~Rainy Sue > Rainy - when I was in college I got what you are describing on the sides of > my legs by my vagina - I freaked - thinking I had genital warts or something > - thought my boyfriend was cheating on me etc - I can't remember the name and > I don't think they gave me anything to take - the doctor just scraped off the > top and picked out the little white, hard head and they healed up and that > was it. maybe have her try it with one of them. Guest guest
LaVina, I think you are talking about molluscum contagiosum: http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic270.htm Could your friend have milia, Rainy? Are the bumps on her lips or the skin surrounding them? http://www.emedicine.com/DERM/topic265.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: <Beveridge1406@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 1:40 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Lip Sores? > Rainy - when I was in college I got what you are describing on the sides of > my legs by my vagina - I freaked - thinking I had genital warts or something > - thought my boyfriend was cheating on me etc - I can't remember the name and > I don't think they gave me anything to take - the doctor just scraped off the > top and picked out the little white, hard head and they healed up and that > was it. maybe have her try it with one of them.
