I hate eye drops so much that I still occasionally, if I have to do them, do them laying down The surgery will be painless, it is just that I am extremely light sensitive, which for me causes a real discomfort. They have enough numbing drops that I doubt I will really care when they do the actual surgery (I had cataract surgery last year, this is my eyes reacting to the surgery yet)

Thanks much for the encouraging words. You mentioned eye surgery (laser surgery). A few years ago I had cataracts removed from "both eyes" and it went very well. The only pain I had was a sore neck from bending back to put eye drops in. Then I found out that putting the drops in while laying down went easier to do the drop lying down.
