Does anybody know where to find the list as it sounds really helpful? many thanks - from london I suppose we from England should especially stay clear of pork anyway since we got the foot and mouth epidemic here at the moment - and it is getting worse by the day. I feel so sorry for all the pigs and cows being slaughtered. Pork has an antibody in it that is similar, chemically, to A blood, so that answers your first question. The food list is Steve Shapiro's reasons list (he's a friend of Dr. D's) which can be accessed through http://www.er4yt.org and clicking on the WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FOOD LISTS? link. Guest guest
As I understand it pork is a no no b/c of its nitrate content. The reason list is available at Steve Shapiro's site http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~sshapiro/ER4YT/cgi-bin/password.cgi LnL, Steve - Cheltenham, UK -----Original Message-----From: viviane.weber@... Guest guest
Found it!! Here's the Ask Dr. D'Adamo: WHY NO PORK? QUESTION: Thank you for bringing such a remarkable field of study to us, who most certainly benefit and become strong advocates of ER4YT. But Dr. D'Adamo, many of us love the taste of pork. It has been touted as the "other white meat" for lessening fat intake from animal products. Please give us the science required to make my engineer type O husband, a believer (I am type A). ANSWER: Hog is very "A-like" immunologically, which makes it an avoid if you happen to have antibodies to the blood type A antigen, like type B's and O's do. Paradoxically enough, hog also has an antibody (iso-hemmaglutinin) in its tissues which reacts to the A antigen, so it should be avoided for this reason by A's and AB's as well. Guest guest
Avoid Pork Question: My son, a student chef, thinks that pork may be too similar to human flesh to be an appropriate food. Consider that porcine insulin is used for diabetics. Also, pigs are being cloned to grow organs for human transplantation. I always used to enjoy pork - I like the taste. But even in childhood, I had an immediate reaction to eating roast pork (my favorite) - I would blush quite red (vasodilation). This is a sign of the body trying to vent excess heat. Digesting pork caused the production of excess heat for some reason. Answer: Swine have been utilized as a biomedical research model in a wide variety of disciplines; the most notable being cardiovascular research. Swine exhibit many similarities to man in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology including: a comparable heart to body size ratio, spontaneous development of atherosclerosis, coronary arterial anatomy, lipoprotein structure, propensity towards obesity, and susceptibility to a variety of stressors. Pigs are nonruminant omnivores and exhibit similarities to man in digestive physiology. Piglets and human infants share similar nutrient requirements and a susceptibility to a host of gastrointestinal pathogens. The pig has been used as a model for diabetes, alcoholism, peptic ulcers, and liver transplant studies. Swine have multilobar kidneys similar in size, number, and structure to human kidneys, which makes the pig an excellent model for kidney obstruction and reflux neuropathies. In the field of dermatology, swine have been utilized to study wound healing, plastic surgery procedures, the formation of human melanomas, and the effects of photoaging. Swine also have been utilized as models in skeletal research, toxicology, and pharmacology. Pork is an avoid for O's and B's because it's very A-like - sort of the dietary equivalent of giving yourself a bad blood transfusion. It also, if I remember correctly, has a lectin which agglutinates type A cells. kathy s **email me privately for more info on ordering NAP supps....
