I doubt it. I've wondered that, but if it does, it can't be by much...

adding lots of fat is the only way to moderate the insulin response, AFAIK,

to a significant degree.

Depends on your genetics. Simplest way to test, eat a big pasta meal and see

how you feel a couple hours later. If you feel great for four hours, you

should have no problem eating grains properly prepared. If you crash a few

hours later, you need to have fat. The sooner you crash the more fat you

need. Some people probalby shouldn't have grains at all. I'm probably one

of those, but bread and butter is so damn easy to make! :-P

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "
