Guest guest
WHO warns of Tamiflu resistance risk. September 26, 2009 The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned against the use of the antiviral drug, Tamiflu, as a preventative measure against swine flu. The WHO says the risk of the drug not working effectively is bigger when people take it before developing the symptoms of swine flu. It says that 12 out of 28 cases of viral resistance to the drug have been linked to preventative use. Instead, the WHO recommends that people with weak immune systems be closely monitored for symptoms, and be given early antiviral treatment should the symptoms develop. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/09/26/2697264.htm
