Jen,

On the tea subject, do you mean herbal or black tea? Kombucha, as far as I

know, is made with black tea which is caffeinated. But herbal teas,

especially the mineral teas, ie. parsley tea, etc. would be great for you.

Also, quickly, I don't know what my bone status is, but I do have a small

frame and have always been concerned about this as I get older, but I have

recently started increasing the amount of butter I consume and I feel really

good lately. Butter, coupled with the cod liver and perhaps a sardine

sandwich and/or chicken livers once a week would be a great diet to add to

your plan for reversing your osteo.

I'm highly skeptical of the benefits of fluoride. Theoretically the fluoride

should bond to calcium rather than carbon, to make calcium fluoride which is

more acid-resistant than calcium carbonate. But my dentist prescribed me a

fluoride rinse about a year ago, and I tried it a few times, but it would

cause me to excessively salivate and then dry out my mouth extremely, and

give me a funny feeling in my joints and I wouldn't be able to sleep. Now

that I have extreme periodontitis (probably cause from my dental work), he

gave me a more extreme prescription to use three times a day instead of

before bed. I don't plan on having it filled. Unfortunately, although I

love the guy, I think my dentist is inadvertently destroying my body in

attempt to save my teeth.

Also, you should consider the endocrinological effects of fluoride since you

have problems in that area. I don't know exactly how it would fit in with

your condition, or at all for that matter, because I know nothing whatsoever

about endocrinology ;-)

Fluoride does seem to have a positive effect when applied *topically* to

children's teeth, but ingesting large amounts of fluoride such as in water

fluoridation seems to be out-and-out harmful and cause bone *problems* like

bone cancer.

As far as the kind of tea, I think green tea is as high in fluoride as black

tea, but has much less caffeine. You can get either decaffenated anyway. A

cup a day of decaf green tea probably woudn't be harmful in either an excess

of fluoride or anything else I would imagine.

BTW, does anyone know how the kombucha organisms metabolize the caffeine?

Can caffeine be eliminated by long fermentation of kombucha?

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "

I read " somewhere " that the high level of flouride found in black and green tea

is directly related to heavy pesticide use which is very common.....the orangic

tea has little to no flouride.
