This is of interest to me. A holistic doctor I went to put

me on Flax seed oil capsules (1000mg) and a some capsules called

Lipotrepein to help disolve gallstones. I think the Lipotrepein was

just for the digestive problems though. I've always heard

that flaxseed oil was good for digestive health but I never had read

anything about it good for disolving stones. I searched all over the

net for anything that pointing to flax oil directly disolving

gallstones so I was wondering where this holistic doctor was

coming from. Where did you get this information.Maybe you could point

to me to a site or something where I can find this information to

re-enforce that what he has been giving me is worthwile

I have experienced problems with bad heartburn when I drank the

oil. The capsules seem to have less of an effect.

I am not sure what the Lipotrepein is part of disolving.

In case your wondering whats in Lipotrepein:

Gambir leaf, Choline Citrate, L-methionine, Dandaline root,Celandine,

Beet leaf,and Black Radish.

If this is true about the flax oil then maybe he wasn't off base at

all. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

Both items aim to dissolve the cholesterol stones - at least reduce

their size. However, it not only takes time (a year or more) but may

not work well on non-cholesterol stones. Remember that flax oil

degenerates quite easily so buy fresh and keep refrigerated. When I

find the refernce to flax as a potential stone dissolver I'll let you

know. However, the benefit of flax is partly to do with restoring the

ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fats in the body.

Indeed, this is not a complete list. And 'shrink' is probably more

apt than 'dissolve'. My top suggestion is Lecithin - you can get in

any large foodstore, its cheap, natural and with wide-ranging

benefits; and it is easily added to foods. I add it to a multi-grain

cereal with soy milk. My second top choice is plain water - this is

needed to dilute and flush out a large variety of metabolites and

other toxins. In a number of indirect ways, this will help the fat

processing ability of the digestive system too (liver and gallbladder

included). The body is like a pond - without fresh water in and old

water out, the pond will become stagnant (putrid). Further, the body

has natural healing abilities. If we stop harming it, it begins to

heal.

I think I have a food reaction with soy products. Does anyone know if

they make a Lecithin supplement that does contain soy.

K,

I note that you did not include Gold Coin Grass in your list of dissolvers. Is this because of no experience or experience which was negative? Also, is dissolving limited to cholesterol stones or does it apply to calcified ones, those that appear on an ultrasound, as well. Please advise. Thanks, Ben

Ben -

I am not familiar with GCG - it seems to be a herb used in Chinese

medicine.

From the decription in the site below it seems that it may work on

the hard type of stone.

http://sensiblehealth.com/prime.html

" Ingredients: Gold Coin Grass, Bupleurum

Organs Affected: Liver, Gallbladder, Kidneys, Urinary Bladder

Dosage 1 tablespoonful (about 15 ml) once daily on empty stomach 30

minutes before breakfast

User Experience

and Properties: This product is effective in softening and crushing

gallstones and is useful as a preparatory step in gallbladder

flushing. Most users found their gallbladder pain alleviated or

relieved already following a few days of using this product.

Gallstones released with the use of this product prior to gallbladder

flush are generally smaller and more in numbers. Sometimes the stones

even come out in pieces. "
