mercola recommends baking soda. don't know if that's strong enough for you.

i just use one of those expensvie non-toxic deodorants, but i don't have a

big problem with it.

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "

This recently started happening to me, but I discovered that it's

only when I'm anxious or stressed. It took me a while to pick up on

the pattern. I can pinpoint the start of this right back to last

October, a very stressful month for me. I also got fever blisters at

the same time. I've worked on the stressful issue for several months

and the side-effects are almost gone. I'm not surprised by any of

this as I've dealt with anxiety issues for most of my life and tend

to hold everything inside and not let the emotions out. My stress

always comes out in some physical way or another.

My doctor told me that it could be due to a zinc deficiency, but

that's not the case for me. I use one of the " natural " deodorants

when necessary.

wonder what causes it ( even after much washign of the armpits )

how to curtail it without spraying yoruself with commercial " nice

smelling sprays "

Strong body odor is usually caused by putrification of foods in the

bowel. That is why a raw food diet WILL remedy this situation. It

can dramatically improve digestion and transit time.

Just a wild thought, but you could try whey? The smell is from a

certain bacteria, and I believe someone was experimenting

with " probiotics for the underarm " LOL! But people use kefir whey

for various rashes etc. and it seems to help -- it may help with

that bacteria too.

My copy of Metabolic Man is out on loan so this is from memory. Was reading

through the tables in the back again last week and remember in the Ayurvedic

types that sweating easily and acrid smell are Pitta qualities. My husband has

always sweat easily. In summer he brings a few dry tee shirts to work for the

day. Recently there is more odor which set the bell off when I read it. He's

eating more raw food than he ever has so it could be detox or even more of a

balance to his Pitta quality predominance. Did see an article this week that

should be some consolation. Studied women's body reactions to men's sweat and

found it calming. Being Vata dominant myself I need calm.

My body odor first went away when I started strict macrobiotics

(which was a mostly cooked diet). However, even now on NT I have no

body odor as long as I eat *nothing* processed, non-organic, having

any additives, preservatives, etc... Whenever I eat out (not often),

I have body odor the next day.

Stress/anxiety/anger will also cause me to have body odor.

I generally shower only every other day.
