Guest guest
shouldn't they charge a fee, if they catch someone traveling with an infection and e.g. sneezing into a crowd or such ? Is it illegal in some countries or US-states ?

Would you want to make it illegal to sneeze?!?! no, only uncontrolled sneezing into other people when you're infected. >People sneeze for all kinds of reasons, like a tickly nose >or allergic reaction. >That would be as bad as making farting illegal. so, it should be allowed to infect other people with cold ? (deliberately or by carelessness) Is it allowed to infect others with flu ? With H5N1 ? Why should this be treated differently than hurting/beating others ? >And you can't charge an additional fee for travelers with infections. ...if they refuse to take appropriate measures. What else would you do ? Refuse to transport them at all ? >That could place the airlines/airport/officials under all sorts of >civil rights violations (proving that the traveler knowingly traveled >with the bird flu may be hard to prosecute) maybe they can develope some tests for the most common infections

Not every sneeze means a person has some infection. sure. I don't want to punish squeezing. Say, when you see someone squeezing in public towards other people inappriately. That person should be reported, examined on flu/cold and if positive, warned or by repition charged by a fine.

Guest guest
This is fine, but why only travelers? Any why so thick? Most legislators will not read so much. > > CDC Proposal Would Help U.S. Track Travelers > More Contact Information and Greater Ability to Quarantine Could Help > Stem Spread of Disease > By Rick Weiss, Washington Post Staff Writer > Wednesday, November 23, 2005; A02 > > The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a > phone-book-thick proposed rule yesterday that would give the federal > government new powers to track the comings and goings of individual > travelers and expand the circumstances under which passengers exposed > to a serious communicable disease could be isolated or quarantined. Guest guest
But what about a person who just sneezes because he/she has a "tickle" in the nose? Not every sneeze means a person has some infection.sterten@... wrote: shouldn't they charge a fee, if they catch someone traveling with an infection and e.g. sneezing into a crowd or such ? A couple of reasons for it being travelers. One, if flying, the air in the airplane is recirculated. So you will eventually be breathing the air that was exhaled by an ill person. And two, there MAY be areas that have more of this flu (if and when it mutates) than others, especially in the beginning. Guest guest
It's also common knowledge that many people get a cold or the flu or even pneumonia from being in airplanes. It happened to my partner a few years ago. He almost died. Very scary. What puzzled me, though, is why he got so sick and I didn't get so much as a sniffle. We were both on the same flights. Hm ...
