Guest guest
The Portable, Personal Subway Strap By Carolina Tarazona (New York - WABC, November 8, 2005) - Germs on the subway. I'll admit it, when I stand I try to avoid using my hands to hang on to those metal bars. Maybe it's irrational, but a lot of people do the same thing. And now comes a solution for those who worry about germs: your own strap to use as a hanger. Here's Carolina Tarazona. In the subway, if you're lucky you get a seat. If you're not, you stand and hold on. Stan Dolberg, Transtrap Creator: " Why do people have to stand in the subway and hold the same place everyone else touches? Why? " We don't know, but something is being done about that. It's why Transtrap was made, so you don't have to share that cold metal subway bar with anyone, ever. You actually hook the metal part to the subway bar. For those who can't reach the bar, and for those who don't want to physically touch the bar. You can buy them on the internet or at Vercesi's hardware store on 23rd Street - the only place in the city that sells the Transtrap. He says this gadget is now a top-seller. In fact it's so successful that he had to place a limit per customer. Vercesi, Vercesi Hardware: " We are the first ones to have it. Right now it's the hottest item. " Chuck McMains came in with his wife. He wanted to buy 1,000, but he chose to buy only three. Chuck McMains, Transtrap Customer: " I'm going the buy three. I've got an idea for it. " The idea is now to perhaps sell these straps underground. Will the Transit Authority endorse them? Officials say, not any time soon. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=local & id=3616957
