Guest guest
I wish when they report ultrasounds they would try to give a number. On my first one the report was " several moderately large calcified stones " , the next " gallstones measuring up to 1.3 cm " . I did squeeze the girls to tell me there were 3. I am wondering if the flush is just to gentle on these type stones. I can't remember the name of that one man who gave a flush and said it is only successfull if you get out red or black. Anyone? What kind of flushes do you do Angel? I have to hand it to you for hanging in there all this time. You know, a few weeks ago my daughter brought home all these boxes of chocolate from her job and I literally pigged out on it for days and it never affected me. Take care. laura ----- Original Message ----- From: " Angel " <anglstar@...> <gallstonesegroups> Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2000 2:37 PM Subject: Only Calcified Stones show up on Ultrasound? > Long post: > Ken wrote that if the gallstones show up in an ultrasound then they are > calcified stones. > I have had stones for many years, and ever since my first ultrasound about 7 > years ago they > showed up on the ultrasound, does that mean that they are calcified and > therefore would not be gone with the flushes? Guest guest
Hi Angel! I wish I had all your answers for you... but am still searching for some of them! I'm am not positive, but I believe that many or most cholestorol " stones " do not show up on a sonagram. That is why most surgeons WILL operate based on symptoms and NOT on seeing the " stones. " Will the flush remove calcified stones... YES! BUT if you get a calcified stone it will most likely be Black, Brown or Red. It is NOT a greenie! The greenies come from gb or liver sludge. They can cause the same symptoms as calcified stones if the get stuck in a duct. Obviously a flush CAN get some calcified stones out... the stones can come out without a flush if you eat fatty foods... artichokes or chocolate! Yes, chocolate causes the gallbladder to spill its bile. You have " many calcified stones " ... how many? A sac full is not ideal as it does lead to the potential of bursting. Rarely does it kill anyone, but it usually means a much bigger scar in surgery. A few calcified stones often are quite silent and require little attention... but diet change may keep them from growing. Big stones are less of a problem than little ones as they cannot get out of the neck of the gb to get trapped in the ducts. Thats what I think I know.... We are all in search of truth... none of us has it completely... that would only be in the mind of God! If the chocolate doesn't bother you to much... enjoy in moderation... just remember that it is made of Chocolate, Coco Butter, Milk fats and lost of sugar. The only redeeming quality might be that scientist tell us it functions in a woman's brain in the same spot as sex! I am not trying to be funny! This is true! My wife eats no chocolate... I guess that's why I get a lot of... loving!@#@! Happy New Year!
Guest guest
>>I have never heard of anyone having their gallbladder burst before, only on this list, does this really happen? I thought it was impossible for this to happen.<< The gallbladder can rupture, but I do not think that this happens very often. The two people I know personally that this happened to, didn't really have many warning signs. My friend had had a few pains in her lower, right, stomach. Certainly not typical of gallbladder pain. I told her it sounded like a cyst on her ovary. About a week after I talked to her, she was at work, and she just hit the floor, doubled over in pain. She was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and they took out her gallbladder and cleaned her up. My uncle had no prior symptoms. He was watching tv, eating peanut butter, and he was suddenly doubled over in sharp pain. He nearly died. He was in the hospital over two weeks. I can't understand why neither one of these people dealt with the typical attacks beforehand. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to be able to give you any reasons why chocolate is good for your gallbladder. That was so funny! Guest guest
>>Debra, when they got in there to clean up these ppl, were there alot of stones?<< I honestly don't know. My uncle's happened before I was having problems, and my friend's happened before I was having regularly recurring problems, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to the amount of stones.Debra _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
