Chris-

Certainly your root canals are highly suspect. As to the rest, candida

might well be involved, but your low degree of sugar cravings suggests it's

not necessarily severe.

Here's a question, though: has your skin been exposed to metal? There's a

condition called nickel dermatitis caused by nickel leeching onto (and I

suppose into) skin from contact with metals containing nickel. I only

recently learned what it is, but I've had it for almost all my

life. Before I was even a teenager, wearing a watch with a metal back

started giving me a massive rash, so I had to start using watchbands with a

leather back under the watch. Then years later I started getting a rash on

my face from wearing my glasses, even through the lacquer on the glasses

frames. I had to switch to contacts because of that. And now I developed

a reaction to my BELT BUCKLE of all things!

Anyway, the thing that initially confused me was that I got a lesser rash

in two other places -- behind my left knee and on my left arm next to the

elbow. Those rashes readily responded to topical treatment and

disappeared, but the main rash, on my stomach, only responded slightly to a

plaster of colloidal silver and azomite clay, which ordinarily kicks the

living **** out of any kind of local infection and speeds wound healing to

a radical degree. It was only when a little of my girlfriend's neosporin

made the rash WORSE that I started thinking it had to be fungal, which

freaked me out, and at the same time I noticed that even though the rash

was over to the right side, it was actually exactly where my belt buckle

is. (For whatever reason, the buckle apparently won't slide over to the left.)

So then I did some googling and found, among other things, this charming page.

http://www.postgradmed.com/issues/2002/11_02/pd_cerveny.htm

Anyway, the upshot of my research is that mercury apparently isn't the only

metal which can cause a candida problem. Imagine how bad it would've

gotten if I weren't eating a relatively healthy, low-carb diet!

That said, I'm not yet sure whether the candida diagnosis is necessarily

correct; I tried applying some lamisil earlier this evening to see what

happens, but the bandage isn't off yet. However, it's unquestionable that

metal can cause dermatitis, so you might want to think about whether metal

exposure could possibly have anything to do with your eczema. The

interesting thing is how sensitivities seem to spread very slowly from one

part of the body to another. It took maybe ten years after my watch became

a problem before glasses frames started irritating me, and then it took

years more before the belt buckle became a problem.

Re: metal this is a very interesting story. I don't *think* that I have

metal exposure... I don't wear a watch, my glasses I think are plastic. I do

have several mercury fillings in my mouth from when I was a little kid, and I

do usually wear a belt, but I have no localized problem on my belly. I have

to run now, but when I get home I will check out that link and see if it

gives any more clues.

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "

I expect it's not a problem for you then, though you should carefully check

your glasses just to be sure (mine not only were metal with some kind of

varnish, I think they also had a bare metal wire holding the lenses

on). And fillings, of course, and root canals, can do all kinds of

horrible things to all different parts of the body. But it doesn't sound

like you have contact nickel dermatitis, anyway.
