UA College of Medicine to Present Lecture on H1N1

Arizona Telemedicine Program Presents " Expert Panel on the H1N1 (Swine Flu)

Pandemic "

Tucson, AZ - The Department of Internal Medicine and the Arizona Telemedicine

Program at The University of Arizona College of Medicine will present a Grand

Rounds lecture, open to the public, " Expert Panel on the H1N1 (Swine Flu)

Pandemic, " Wednesday, May 13, Noon to 1 p.m., at University Medical Center,

DuVal Auditorium, 1501 N. Ave., Tucson.

Representatives from Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy will join the Director of

the Arizona Department of Health Services and the chief medical officer of the

Pima County Health Department to discuss the response to the recent spread of

the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus. ADHS Director Will Humble, who oversaw the state's

response to the crisis, will speak by video from Phoenix while the others will

appear at the DuVal Auditorium.

Speakers and their topics will include:

* " Virology of the Disease, " Nafees Ahmad, PhD, professor, UA College of

Medicine Department of Immunobiology.

* " Clinical Considerations, " Rod Adam, MD, professor, UA College of Medicine

Departments of Medicine and Immunobiology; director, Traveler's Clinic.

* " Therapeutic Options, " Matthias, PharmD, clinical assistant

professor,UA College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science.

* " Public Health Approaches, " Mc, MD, chief medical officer,

Pima County Health Department.

* " State of Arizona Response, " Humble, MD, director, Arizona

Department of Health Services, Office of Risk Assessment and Investigations...
