Guest guest
Part of that is going to depend on the physician. I know physicians who don't want pts eating more than 3 times a day. Having had the band, I think you need to totally separate the band pts from the RNYs. Since I don't usually work with RNYs nearly as much as bands, I'm not totally sure what you do with them. But the process from liquids to solid is very excellerated with the band, for instance. timeline I have referred to the files on our website for lap band nutrition, but I still have a question. How many times a day do you educate your lap band patients to eat a 1/2 c. or 4 oz? And how does it differ from bypass patients I'm interested in further post op to when they don't necessarily have to rely on protein supplements. Currently I am teaching 3-5 times a day for both lap band and roux en y...but do I need to be more specific for each type of surgery? What is everybody else doing? Thanks for your help, KASEY KOSTER R.D.,L.D.DietitianOKlahoma WEIGHT LOSS OPtions1230 S.W. 89th St. Ste COklahoma City, OK 73139Phone:405-691-1332Fax: 405-691-9112
