So I guess at nearly 300 lbs I was doin' good in my alkaline state, hunh. <g> Part of this problem as I see it is that people think that low-carbing is a diet - it isn't. It's a way of life, because if you go off of it and return to your former way of eating, you're regain all of that weight back. So, sounds like six of one, half dozen of the other. From a paleo perspective, it's the grains that'll kill ya. I can't recall which article it's in on http://www.beyondveg.org, but several times, in different articles, it's mentioned that the common diseases of osteoporosis, tooth decay, etc, can be found in the physical record after grains were added to the diet. I wish I could point to the specific articles, but I just don't have the time at the moment to go through them all (it's a huge site!).
