Subject: New Proposed Vet Ruling

The AVMA is proposing a change to their definition of a veterinary

practice, and what is acceptable. While one interpretation is that

they are making sure that vets practice sound customer contact, and

not rely on electronic conversations, ie. email, internet and phone

conversations, it can also be interpreted as guarding against

breeders and farmers consulting with others as to suggested

practices, medicines, herbs etc. To read more about this, and give

feedback to the AVMA, please visit the following web site.

Feedback must be sent by March 1 to the Dr. named at the site, and a

copy of the feedback should also be sent to

<<healers@...>>

as they are spearheading this conversation. This ruling could also

effect the availability of herbal medicines, as it requires that

diagnoses, treatment and management recommendation need to be made by

a licensed vet or vet tech.

Please check this out, and let the AVMA know your opinion on this

matter.
