I don't know any simpler recipes, but I do know a decent place to get those

ingredients: www.penzeys.com. Their spices aren't organic, but they aren't

irradiated, and their spices are awfully good.

there are other things

... you don't have to just use peppercorns or juniper

... what about cardamon pod seeds

....sometimes I use fennel, cumin, nigella or mustard seeds

~you can also use hawthorn berries
