Guest guest
Hi Aubin, I could be wrong but it depends on the person. Some people look heavy at 25%some look fine, some people feel great at 18% others start having weird problems. Right now I am at 21% but I look better at about 18%, 16% is pushing it for me. But you are right woman have higher bf percentages and normal is 20-25%. I really look a bit chunky at 21% as I keep it all in my waist, that is how I know I have gained weight. Unfortunately I am not one of those women who get hips and look curvy when they gain. Somewhere I also read that depending on your ethnic background your normal bodyfat is bound to be higher or lower. Weather also affects my Bf but it can be due to inactivity, I always get leaner when it starts to warm up but come fall I start gaining no matter what I do. Perhaps my body is trying to keep me warm I figure if I follow NT my body will be healthier and I will have more energy then everything else will just fall into place. It is all about beign healthy and active, I just need to get the nutrition part right. It gets frustrating having a book tell you not to eat butter, and to go easy on the olive oil, to use fat-free dairy (yuk!)eat only very lean protein, use artificial sweetners (aspartame gives me headaches) For some reason I came across NT and it just made sense. I studied anthropology and when I looked at the WAP website it just blew me away. It was so obvious I did not know how I didn't make the connection before. Our ancestors did not eat fat free dairy, they did not eat boneless skinless chicken breasts. Is there anyone out there that has been working out and eating the NT way and feels strong and energetic instead of weak and tired from other eating habits I would love to hear from you. > > Bella, are you a woman (I assume so by the name, but...)? > 16-18% body fat seems too low to me for a healthy woman. Isn't > that getting into the range where strange things start to happen > like cessation of menstruation, etc.? 16-18% is generally > considered healthy for a man (not a bodybuilder, just a regular > guy), according to what I've read, but women should be more in > the 20-25% range. If you are a guy, well hey, go for it. If I'm > mistaken on this, I'm sure someone here will correct me ;-). > > Aubin
