Guest guest
> That is a harsh blanket statement, " it was grown for yield at the expense of nutrition. " I am a natural grower who cares for my soil's health, replenishing it's contents not only at the end of the year but also during the growing season. There are many more growers like us. Nutrition is of great concern to us. I not only grow for just my family but for a community of others. I have given up a career to do this, it sure isn't for the money. Many growers/farmers feel as I do, it isn't as bleak as you paint it to be. Hi Diane: It may be a harsh statement, but the available evidence suggests it is the unfortunate truth. It's always great to hear from a farmer who is concerned about nutrition. What is it that you are doing different from other farmers to increase your nutritional yield per acre while, of course, watching your bulk yield per acre drop? What state is your farm in? As you say, " There are many more growers like us. " , what percentage of food consumed in your state would you say that you and the other growers like you produce? What are your references for what it is that you do with respect to replenishing your soil's health during the growing season and at the end of the year? Do you grow any hybrid crops?
